Unless lived in a rural area be kind if shit. Work terrible hours, catch a whole number of deadly illnesses, get paid shit. I'm not usually one to shit on the past because I tend to view it all with rose tinted glasses, but Industrial Revolution was kind of a rough era if you lived in the city. Though granted it was neat as fuck, and fascinating time to be alive I'm sure.

Dangerous work, long hours. low pay, poisonous chemicals, bad for health.

Occupational safety and health (osha) wasnt a thing back then to protect workers from harm or compensation from harmful work
