Depends on how much I have to worry about the shit outside the virtual world. If it was your body dies and your consciousness is uploaded to a virtual one then obviously it would be the better option.
It's the path to immortality. That is the ultimate dream of all humans, so if there is even the slightest chance of achieving it, Humanity will pursue it to exhaustion. I am sure we will see many advances in this area in the next two or three decades.
