Get minoxidil. No I won't post progress pictures but I've used it for 4-5 months. I have a pretty good beard going on now. I wasn't as bad as you when starting but where you start doesn't really matter. Use it twice a day. EVERY day. The only side effect I got was dryness. I still get dryness. All over my body. Worst is on my legs, itches like a cunt when I exit the shower. Oh, and you'll grow more hair everywhere. So be careful of that. I don't know if it's permanent but I don't care. I've got bushy eyebrows that my girlfriend plucks anyway so I don't mind if I need to get a wax for the rest of my life if it means having a beard.

I use Hair A-Gain and I purchase IRL so no link. I don't know whether it's a popular brand or not. It's just what I bought and use. I actually picked up a new box last week. It's $80 or something but if you're in America you can get it for $20-40 or something ridiculously cheap. So long as it's minoxidil 5% I believe it works regardless.

I have actually gotten weird looks buying in-person though because I clearly have a full head of hair. It actually makes me feel self-conscious going down to buy it and I'm usually a confident person so maybe online is the way to go.
