Used to be meetups all the time before it died out or switched over to /soc/. Usually organized by the OP if it was a thread solely for an area or just a general one that people posted their details in.
Bigger meetups were actually fun but weird. Get people in a group they're less likely to hide their various issues which can be good or bad.
Individual or small meetups were hit or miss and you'd hear about occasional incidences.
