X MPH took Y hours to go 1500 miles while X-10 MPH took Y+5 hours to go 1500 miles

let s be speed of first leg, t be time of first leg
st = (s-10)(t+5) becomes t = 0.5s-5
1500 = st = s(0.5s-5) so s=60 after solving the quadratic equation
other speed must be 60-10=50

Answer is 60 mi/h (25 hours) one way, 50 (30 hours) mi/h back.
