Genuinely curious, when I look at some people its kind of inspiring how much faith and love they put into a god they've never seen or loved, it almost makes me want to put the same amount of love and faith into it, but I feel like even if there is a god, its abandoned us for quite some time now.

I don't believe in God. I'm not pushy about it and I almost always let people assume I'm religious like them. What astounds me is that there are so MANY people who are objectively religious. How do people keep believing?
Oh, for reference, I grew up in a Methodist household, my mom later joined LDS too.
