ask your self: what would i like to see my character to do in this situation?
you will quickly start to make better decisions for your self.

If it didn't slowly get worse you would be able to keep it up, this is a good thing.

Just gain a fear of intimacy. I've lost contact with friends so long ago I can't even remember any of their names and I haven't spoken to a family member in years. I've never been more satisfied in my life.
