Nords have built a throne made of one giant lump of ruby. And their capital.city was built from a mountain, not markarth. It was where the stormcloaks were but it was supposed to be a mountain sized city.

Storm Peaks in WoW WotLK

WoW actually had a lot of the comfiest locations out of any game I've played - Elwynn Forest, Mulgore, Hinterlands, Deepholm, Ashenvale, etc. They had the whole atmosphere, ambience, and bgm down. I think I got ASMR from being in the Barrens late night long before asmr was a named thing, although that might have been from sleep exhaustion. Sadly the graphics are dated and the community is dead, it was fun in its own time though

I'm a pretty high level old school Runescape player. Max combat, several 99's.

I quit recently because just to kill some time I went to the f2p trade world and just walked around for a while. I quickly realised that the magic was dead and that I wasn't even enjoying the game any more, I was just playing it. Back then I enjoyed it because it was an actual adventure, the grinding wasn't nearly as bad as its made out to be and it works perfectly to set apart the quests, but you don't realise that this is what conditions you to play. Conditions you to grind once the quests are done. It becomes about the grind and not about the game, and it becomes more evident than ever when they add new content that forces you to grind something new not pursuades, forces, and you just groan and get on with it.

The whole of Far Cry. I loved exploring that island. Also Bloodgulch, but I might be confusing comfy with nostalgia.

ACTUAL comfy was this little campfire hidden behind some hills in the Badlands of WoW. It was secluded enough that hardly no one knew it was there. I must have spent more hours sitting there talking to the woman I loved than I did playing the actual game.
