The fastest way is pretty much the only way, you have to just go straight into the fire and embrace the fact that you will make a fool out of yourself at first. You have to just dive into social settings and get rejected 100x times, talk to everyone, get in fights, get laughed at. If you do this a lot you'll get rid of all your fears and socializing will be nothing.
