LAX itself isn't....bad. it's the surrounding area. The traffic is fucked beyond belief. The neighborhood is hard core LA ghetto (the LA riots weren't far from it). It's just...as far as airports go, there are much better. Ontario airport is great. Burbank airport too. Hell, John Wayne in Long Beach is tiny and easy to navigate. LAX is just a mess. I guess it's different for a local. I grew up in East LA, and saw the underbelly. The areas they put forward for tourists are nice on the surface, but shit underneath. Long Beach, perfect example.
