It starts really great but then becomes kind off "random". Ludwig had that change from beast to noble church hunter, OoK (first phase) and Gehrman had a sad vibe, which all really fit to the bosses. Maria's wasn't fitting.

That really sucks that you have been spoilered.. I played it blind and had way more than 3-4 hours of extra gameplay in the DLC itself, probably because I'm a shitter and BB is my first "hard" game.
The new weapons from the DLC also gave me much gameplay, for example in coop or pvp.
