ive been depressed and tired for a while, got diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and as a treatment they prescribed me, not as a meme, meditation. ive dabbled with it before but not on such a rigorous schedule. it made me realise that theres not just wandering thoughts in my mind, which i have to control, but also random noise which is consisted of random things ive heard from any point in my life. i think its this noise that prevents me from getting immersed or invested in anything, and is ultimately keeping me from progressing. i feel confident that i can mute it if i have enough time alone with my mind.

In honesty, it sounds like classical anxiety. but as I say, they always take precaution when anything even slightly resembles CV issues, regardless of age or history.

Make sure you go to your GP and get some therapy and maybe some medication if your anxiety is severe enough.

Nip this in the bud now. Do not wait. You don't want this shit to fester and get worse. Trust me I've been out of work 6 months with this shit.

And if you find you aren't improving under your GPs care, make an appointment with them and do not leave until you get a referral to a mental health team.
