I listen to video game tracks, things I saw in trailers or movies on repeat for days at a time. I've spent the past three days exclusively listening to.

Some random faggots "Dr Zaius" remix. From an old simpsons episode

A Hans moleman remix

and "dental plan"

not as autistic as classical
>listening to multiple version of the same piece of music with exactly the same notes but played slightly differently
>it's a PIECE not a SONG freojhbriwljkn
>NO CLAPPING UNTIL THE VERY END just sit quietly and no coughing please
>generic titles for almost everything, most often genre+key+number eg. Symphony no. 5 in C minor or straight up number codes (k545, op. 111, d960)
>12 tone music
>>
>>37356021
It is.
It shows that you only appreciate the feelings caused by the game, not the music on it's own.
Same goes for anime and movie soundtracks.
>>
>>37356021
>people literally spend their lives making orchestral music for games.
>instead of """Real""" music.

>some of the greatest composers of our time are heavily into video games due to the emotional connection and depth, but also the cash, fame and renown, let's be honest.
>some of the best video games are really just the best of the best artforms in combination, sound, graphics, plot, atmosphere, technology.

>He doesn't believe game music is real music.
>he thinks it's autistic.

It's not autistic OP.
You just really enjoyed the music.

Soundtrack related, one of my personal favorites:

I literally only listen to vaporwave, sped down to 33%, of songs from the 70s, and 80s, along with train sounds loops. And I do this for hours on end, often same song/train loop on repeat for the entire day.
Someone diagnose me pls halp
>>
I literally only listen to Metallica
Who cares what people think
>>
>>37356021

I love the soundtrack of Hotline Miami 1 and 2, but those are actually regular songs, they just were used for the game. So i guess i don't have autism
>>
>>37356991
the music brings you back to the atmosphere, which contained the music as a huge aspect. Music is much larger than people give it credit for in the games industry.

The music is a device of immersion, not the game immersing you and the music being an afterthought.

However, I suppose there ARE different ways to get immersed, but saying something like this is just admitting you have literally NO idea how immersion or music-related atmosphere works.

I liked this when I was still going through the vaporwave stage.

Let's find out, I'd say yes. Do you prefer your video game music to something like this? If you do you may be autistic.

No, it's just a sign of shit taste

>>
>>37357261
I like classical shit but I'd say even classical to an extent is autistic, no?

I mean. are we just forgetting normie music exists or?
>>
>>37357328
Classical music is the peak of music, and expresses emotion in a very direct yet nuanced way. If you feel nothing when listening to something like what I just posted you're probably autistic and cannot understand emotions. OP may only listen to video game music because it's familiar to him, a sign of autism.

I have a grill friend whose music taste consists exclusively of background songs from Fire Emblem, so yes, it can be.
>>
>>37357124
Here's a thought.

You are basically an outcast normie, but too unaware and ungifted, with too low of IQ to realize you're not a normie.

The funny thing is you keep yourself in range of normie-hood by being an outcast, instead of leaving normiehood behind entirely and listening to shit like this:

This is better than dead white male music

>>
>>37357361
Oh yeah, I love what you posted and it's very emotional.

But how can you say something like this is very different:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOK0mUbu-Ys

considering most of the tracks are inspired by or are actually real classical tracks.

Also, yeah, normie music, in the eyes of a normie, all of this is autistic.
>>
>>37356021
No, it's fine, if you want non-distracting background noise.
>>

any music combined with another artform becomes autistic? cool.

Nah, true autism is listening to a mix of anime jpop intro music, 90s gangsta rap, and 80s pop songs
this is what i do ;_;
>>
>>37357680

there isnt any you fucking idiot maybe you missed the part where op said he "only" listens to video game music, otherwise i cant tell where this dumbass comparison came from
theres a fucking huge difference between listening to both biggie smalls and video game music, versus ONLY listening to video game music

when youre so narrow minded in as artistic and broad of a category as music, thats a redflag for how fucked up you probably are. especially when "video game music" itself isn't even a distinctive style (excluding MIDI stuff), so ONLY listening to video game music as opposed to finding other, similar non video game music, solely because it isn't from a video game, is a huge redflag
>>
>>37358030
how can you be autistic listening to any of this, all of these things are good.
>>
>>37358044
the point I'm making is exactly that, "Video game music" can literally be anything...anything.

From classical to dubstep to fucking wall noise, it all falls under "video game music"

Its a sign of plebian taste and a poor lifestyle.

Vidya is your main exposure to new music, so you listen to vidya soundtracks. There are always better things to listen to within the genres that you find through vidya.

Unless you're listening to a specific soundtrack for specific feels associated with your experiences with a certain game. I'll listen to the Skyrim soundtrack occasionally. But if vidya soundtracks are 100% of your listening then that's probably not a great sign and you should diversify because there's better stuff to listen to.
>>
>>37358495
A very specific form of autism, it's a good idea to stop browsing /pol/ now
Everyone who plays grand strategy games does thisincluding me
>>
I've listened to Persona 5's soundtrack exclusively since the game came out
>>
>>37358628
>skyrim soundtrack

this is truly autistic, since skyrims music is fucking garbage.
>>
>>37356944
If you can't tell the difference between art and autism, then you are truly plebeian.
>>
I remember my old music teacher used to say that video game music was a joke and it was just a bunch of rapid arpeggios. This was back when hardware was very limited and the amount of channels of audio that consoles could use were finite so chords were impossible so arpeggios were always used instead. That was the only legitimate argument I've ever heard against vidya music, but even then, the same argument could be made against monophonic instruments.

>>37356991
>It shows that you only appreciate the feelings caused by the game, not the music on it's own.
Then why do I like this game's soundtrack?
https://soundcloud.com/thasauce_network/sets/commodore-crushs-space-crusade-original-soundtrack

>>37358628
>There are always better things to listen to within the genres that you find through vidya.
I don't think that this is necessarily true. Sometimes good music is simply made for vidya, that doesn't make it inherently worse than music of a similar genre. Take, for instance, chiptune. If you really think that the only good chiptune music is that which is not used in video games then you're lying to yourself.
