I only got an Instagram after coming on r9k, I used to be defeatist but have been improving myself so maybe I should leave

I don't have either of those.
I don't see the point of having either since youngsters don't use facebook anymore anyways. Isn't everyone just using reddit and tumblr nowadays? aren't those the two new cool "accepted" sites?

I have a facebook from 4-5 years ago that I've never posted on once I assume it's still active. I still don't understand instagram though, it's just for posting pictures right? Can't facebook already do that?

Normiegram is more for giving to the option to "follow" famous people. For the rest, it's indeed about posting pictures to show your friend. FB can do that as well, but most people post their pics on instagram rather than normiebook.
