Checks out desu. At least the day to day job is pretty easy and I'm making alright money so can't complain.

>going for a degree
I mean, if it's completely paid for (that is, no loans) or if it's something with minimal loans, you enjoy it, and have a decent shot at a job then it might be OK.
I wish I could justify going to college. I got into several decent ones (not Ivy League but top 50 probably) and did about a year before I said fuck it. Call it weak resolve or whatever but I just couldn't do it any more.
I like to learn, but do it on my own time now. College, at least the modern version, is probably one of, if not thee biggest scam in action at the moment. Truly, boomers and who ever are some of the hreateat shammers ever. They duped several generations into elling their lives essentially so they could rake up the benefits. More power to them, but really, it helps to look at the situation objectively and that's how I see it

I am a Biology major.
Plan on going into medicine, though. Want to be a PA. Was trying to be a doctor, but realized that 80 hour work weeks would make me off myself.
>>37313023
I legitimately have autism and am going into medicine.
>>37313023
Going to go for math but cant decide what to do in math maybe Stats but I also want to learn code. Anybody have advice for me Im a first year
>>37313023
>>37313023
I'm in medicine, but I love it. I work in a hospital and on the weekends I drive down and go to small towns and give free healthcare to kids and their families.
>>37313062
shut the fuck up. (Pure) mathematics is even more autistic than physics
>>37313392
It's not as bad as people make it out to be. The on-call shifts are usually the worst parts of the job and even some of them aren't too bad. Depends what you specialise in (and I guess what country you work in).
Here in Britbongistan, medicine is a shit specifiality but some of the surgical specialities are chilling and stuff like Psych and GP is alledgedly not too bad but involves a lot more paperwork.
Although if you get paid more as a PA and have to work less than a junior doc then fair enough. I don't know enough about PAs to know about how career progression works for them though.
I'm gonna try and become a nurse.
>Pays well
>Always in demand
>Pretty much guarantees me a job wherever I want to live
>Gives me practical knowledge
>Can choose to work at day or night
>Gives me the option of taking a few more years of college to be a physicians assistant if I'm feeling more ambitious later on.
I'm only worried that being a male nurse will dry up the vagina of any women I meet.
I recently got a higher education degree in Computers stuff, don't know what is the US equivalent, something like vocational/trade school I think.
I could enroll into college without getting into massive debt since I'm not American but fuck that, I don't feel like studying anymore, I want to focus on my moonrunes practices and making money.

Who here /criminal justice/?
>>37313505
Burger here. I've heard a bunch of horror stories about residencies. You're legally not allowed to work over 60 hours per week, but residents are regularly working 80+.
I'm an introverted, socially awkward person. I really need alone time in order to not spiral into depression. Was hospitalized for suicidal ideation a few months ago because I took on too much. I just couldn't do it in my position.
PAs get to work a normal 9-5 schedule and get paid pretty damn well. Not to mention there's only two years of school. Less paperwork to do, too.
>>37313601
>young fresh college grad takes your position
Sounds like your usual "sorry not enuff experience" kid, I'm not worried about those chumps. I already have some work experience and by then I imagine I will have even more.
Besides I was told there will always be jobs for me if I study autismwares. I don't even plan on living that long anyway.
Pathobiology
>>37313711
> I don't even plan on living that long anyway.
>>37313675
Fair enough I guess, I always end up staying late as well usually to make sure eveything isn't fucked for the next day, although since I finally have some juniors of my own I've been leaving work on time for a change which is nice. In the UK PAs are only employed in A+E and acute medicine, which are two of the worst jobs to pick because they're a dumping ground for everyone; really sick people to social admissions. Not to mention PAs are always at the very bottom of the shitpile when it comes to delegating out jobs and doing day to day work. It doesn't look to me to be an easier alternative to medicine, at least not here.
I'm introverted too and still am but 5 years of med school has forced me to learn how to communicate like a normalfag, to the point where I can do it without thinking about it now, whereas it was fucking impossible to start with (all my feedback from the first 2 years of med school was that I'll never pass clinicals because I spoke to patients with no emotion and showed no empathy, showed those fuckers in the end though). It's quite easy to put on once you get the hang of it. Be prepared to have to talk fucking shitloads in your job though, there's no way out of it unfortunately.
>tfw dropped out, therefore transcending all tiers
>>37313023
psychology as well. pretty meme degree t b h
>>37313023
microbiologyis it really social tier?
>>37313860
There is a pretty high demand for PAs in the US. Doctors have so much shit to deal with here that a bunch of their tasks get delegated to the PA. Especially in family medicine. No doctor wants to stay in family medicine when they can specialize and pay off their student loans quicker.
On the social front, I'm doing okay at it. I'm actually working as a nursing assistant right now, so I know I am able to act like a normalfag. Every once in a whiile, I'll slip into awkwardness, but my patients are really cool and don't seem to mind much.
Just finished a BA in Spanish with a cert in Japanese. Instead of going for the MA I'll study IT or Business.

>Theatre technology, design and production
I plan to try gaining enough experience and someday end up as a technical director or stage manager, but probably not at a theatre company, since it's true that theatre is a dying art unless you live somewhere like New York or San Francisco.

14/hr. Cost of living is such you CAN live on that, but it won't be glamorous. You won't be in the hood either but you're still looking at a smallish studio.

Severe autism tier:
Applied physics and electrical engineering (may switch from EE to applied math, because EE seems boring af)
>>37316533
Holy shit dude, home depot pays like $12 for a sales associate. Is that with a bachelors or do you have a masters?
>>37313657
I am, seems like a meme degree especially if you're trying to get into Federal LE but the internship experience has been pretty good.
>>37316758
BA. I love the work most of the time though so I got that going for me that Home Depot likely doesn't.
If I continued in ABA by getting a masters and BCBA license, that pay would shoot up dramatically to 50-55K starting. Not sure if I'll do that though or some other grad program though.
>>37315816
Hey bb
Write me a prescription for meth
History. Not planning on pursuing it as a career, though. The idea is getting my country's equivalent of a bachelor, then going for a political science master and ultimately trying to get into civil service, ideally diplomacy. But even if I fail History is a pretty flexible thing to study, so it's alright. And who knows what opportunities might come up until then.

You need a pilot's license. Flying is the applied science of both your disciplines.

>>37313023
Failed out of comp sci, currently going for business, don't really care though I currently work at a restaurant and it's pretty comfy and I'm content with it. I'll probably go full time when I'm done with uni get some experience and try to either get into a starred restaurant or move on to management.
>>37317723
If I can't make it then I have a Plan B. Which is law school.
>>37318168
Try being a bartender anon, those cunts have the potential to make bank especially if you get accepted into a high end restaurant/hotel

I have a meme degree from the bottom tier. If I could go back for anything, what should it be and why?
Mech Engineering
Currently taking Thermo, Linear Algebra, and some liberal arts crap I still hadn't taken care of.
Want to find a good internship but the last good one was legitimately an hour and a half commute each way.
>>37319889
Retard, you should have taken it. It's an investment. If you graduate without one, good fucking luck. Better to suffer now than suffer later.
Take the next one, no matter which one.
>>37319588
True it's also
>Highest* professional suicide rate tier.
*Veterinary Surgery is higher in some areas.
>>37319940
>Retard, you should have taken it. It's an investment.
I already spend an hour and a half commuting for college, if I bumped that up to 4h~ per day I'd have no time left to do anything else.
>>37313023
Physics and chemistry. Starting to get kind of bored of them.
>>37313023
Double major in Aerospace and Business. Guess it's top tier & a little normal tier for me.
>>37313023
I actually have Asperger's and am doing Law. Can confirm its Aspergeryness
Double majoring in history and english literature
If I don't become a teacher I'm fucked
Finance. Chad is shockingly helpful, and I am getting a fair trade. I give him my autism for help on a few areas he struggles in with some of the mathematics required and then he helps me meet girls and act less like a sperg. Very rewarding.
Pick a Chad degree anons, as long as you have something to offer he will become your greatest ally.
>>37318070
You have a chance to become a Chad though. I can't think of a more chad education than JD/MBA.
>>37313023
why the fuck is music in social tier?
most of the times people that do music are either relly good at it or they've completly rejected society as a whole and are focusing their minds on making sound porn.
OP is full of shit
>>37319588
This is true. Dentistry and medicine are both god-tier. I would go to dental school if my vanity didn't make me set my sights on medicine.
>>37313023
I have both a computer science and math degree, and can say that both require abnormal levels of autism and dedication.
>>37313023
Currently on Computer Science but if I can get into a film school I'd do that, I really hate CS and I don't give a shit about ''good salary'' or shit like that, I'm gonna kill myself if I can't do what I want, my life is already shit and it's going to get worse so I better try and do what I want to do
>>37319409

Medicine. My autism is palpable.
I'm studying biology in the UK but I feel like biochemistry would have been better now
>>37313023

Also if you're a guy, your chances to get laid increase dramatically.
