I really love my AR, like I'd love a gf. She makes me feel so safe and that no matter what happens, she'll be there for me. Plus she's honestly quite a marvel of engineering, and cleaning her is fun. Thats nice. To me my AR is special to me since I've never had a really decent home defense / combat rifle before, and she's the most expensive gun I ever bought. She's my bump-in-the-night gun as well as my defense against tyranny gun so she's special, but I also have a century old browning shotgun that i just call browning-chan because she's so elegant and aesthetically pleasing, she's beautiful to me.

Have you ever read Waffegiest stories on /k/ writefag threads? they're really cool. The concept for the story is that in certain rifles that are made especially good, the bolt acquires a spirit that will show itself in the form a cute girl to a good, loving owner. I'm thinking about writing a waffegiest story myself about a south african R1 FAL rifle's parts kit (containing a waffegiest in the bolt) being imported to the US to a lonely kommando whos totally not a self insert and rebuilds her, leading to a cute heartwarming loves story. I have a big collection of stories, mostly in first or second person, about fictional universes that I like where the pov character interacts with other characters that I like. It's all just for wish fulfillment and there are many lewd ones. I never share these stories with anybody, in fact this is the first time I've even shared the fact that I write them.

It boggles my mind that some people do this and then post the stories online for everyone to see. It feels shameful just writing them. But writing/rereading and editing/just thinking about these stories is preferable to real life if I'm honest. I think I might have that maladaptive daydreaming thing
