What kind of art are you doing? Art school isn't a waste as long as you know what you want to do with the degree and you have all of your classes planned (with the aide of a counselor)

It's not a waste if you're good at art before starting. More education/refinement/practice will make your work professional-tier.

Most people suck at art/music when they go into a school for it though, so they merely come out of it only average.
