You'll need to lose a decent amount of weight. Getting a good body fat% is your best bet, just don't overdo it.

You have a huge improvement swing though to look forward to, and that in itself is very rewarding (if you need any motivation).

IMO, interval training > long cardio and exercise becomes enjoyable after a point.

Back when I lost that weight I would walk every day (running/jogging caused a sharp pain in my back), try indoor exercises like pushups, and did the gym thing for a couple months towards the end.
