There are no "rise" in attacks in western societies. It peaked in 2016.

Also, Islam's spread to western societies post-1950 was very video game like. Islam was a "religion of peace" and a "way of life" and "more detailed than Christianity". Coupled with the antiliberal stance on criticism and the death of Christianity, Islam was on pace to convert millions of liberals. Then the terrorist attacks started getting bloodier and more obvious. And that's when it stopped. Now even muslims have a hard time saying islam is a religion of peace.

The rise of Islam in the west was closer to the early 2000s, ironically after 9/11. If terrorism stopped after 9/11, then Dearborn, MI wouldn't be the only islamic city in the US. America at that time was very inviting to the "misunderstood" muslims. Couple that with the antiliberal thought bubble of Islam and it was very much a threat because there was no real fail-safe mechanism for leaving the religion.
