Usually true but in this case it's not. The societal machine was built and is maintained through collective effort with an implied agreement that it will be there for people who contribute and will be there for them if they need it. Due to the large scale of national populations it isn't feasible to be selective about who it helps. If it were feasible it's almost guaranteed that you'd be cut off from it and placed in some wilderness to fend for yourself so you and people like you aren't an anchor around the collective's neck.

You're able to post online because of the work of others. You should pay back into it because we can't cut you off, which would be our right to do.
