Mediterranean societies tend to not pressure the individual to be successful as hard as it is in anglophone countries, they're more family and kin centered societies. Though this is probably caused by lack of resources honestly. Shit jobs one cannot even think of living off of and unstability.

Also, in the past people used to live in huge multi generational households. The whole "fly off the nest" mentality was a thing invented by americans. If the family could stay together that was encouraged.

Yeah, Spain is a bit less organized and "neat" than Sweden from what I have seen. People aren't as stressed and cold as here either. Far from third world country though.
I have been looking at San Sebastian for a while. It seems like a really nice city with a comfortable climate. I'm worried about Basque country culture though. Castilian feels more familiar. I also like surfing, so the Atlantic ocean is a plus. I also really like Barcelona, but it feels a bit too busy and touristy. The climate is perfect though. Barcelona and Nice are my favorite cities climate-wise. Malaga and the area around it seems nice also, but as you said, the climate might be too much.

Again, it depends on what you want. The climate, geography, personalty of people and ''culture'' can change a lot from north to south.

Personally I would avoid living in catalonia/barcelona because there are too many shitskins, muslims and niggers. It is infested with them. But if you don't care about that...
