Hey guys so I'm finally leaving the neet life and looking for a job..but the bad thing is I have moderate/severe acne..my family says my face doesn't look horrible but I think it does and I think it'll hurt my chances of landing any job..what do you guys think, should I just not even try to get a job at this point?
>>
Acutane, ask your doctor about it, you can thank me later
>>
I use Stridex pads
they work wonders
>>
Yeah. Getting a job is primarily wowing your interviewer. If you look like shit they'll probably go with the guy who doesn't but has similar qualifications
>>
depends what kind of job?
>>
Of course it will. It makes you less attractive and ugly people look less competent and trustworthy.

I had acne until 23 and I tried everything from clearasil to acutane until it just went away on its own.

Just as a stocker at my local hobby lobby
>>
>>37190429
This mate. I only needed a prescription for 4 months or so and it was gone completely. Make sure you buy quality facial moisturiser and lip balm.
>>
>>37190429
Actually just ended a 8 month course..I guess acne is not the right term my cheeks are just really red from where the acne used to be
>>

This.
Getting a job is like getting a women the better you look the more likely they'll hire/talk to you and qualifications are just a legal requirement
skill is what will really determine if you last if your resume somehow manages to dodge the paper shredder and you survive the meat grinder interviewers and if your lucky maybe you'll be a natural at flipping burgers or a sandwich artist because that's about the only jobs that will even dare consider taking the risk of hiring some anti social pizza face

sounds like minimal customer interaction required so shouldn't matter what your face really looks like, just try to not be a total autist in the interview. dress nicely. do your best to exude positivity and eagerness to learn

this is probably lightyears out of your comfort zone but i know some guys who use a bit of concealer on their really bad red spots just get the right colour for your face/neck

hope this helps
>>
>>37190598
Yeah it actually does..I've been looking at concealers to cover up some of the bad red spots since I only have one active pimple since finishing accutane

oh good im happy it helps!

my friends use drugstore quality concealer which isn't great and will often oxidize into an orangey colour if you need a pale shade. the best thing you can do is suck up your pride and walk into sephora and enlist one of the guys to help you, they know male skin better than the girls and will better understand the importance of subtlety
>>
>>37190728
My sister actually offered to help me with all of that shit..so I'm probably gonna just let her put concealer on me since I know absolutely nothing about makeup..thanks for the advice though

>tfw not fat
Oregjdjd
>>
Still awake OP?

I have extremely relevant experience, as I have moderate acne across my entire body.
>>
>>37191388
Yeah man I'm still here .also I feel you acne fucking sucks I wouldn't wish it in my worst enemy
>>
>>37190371
Start using a facial scrub. Buy tea tree oil. Don't pop your pimples. Use tea tree oil to disinfect particularly bad pimples. Cut sugar out of your diet. If you drink a lot of cold or sugary stuff, it will make your acne flair up.

So cringey.

I work in an IT firm, and they hired all kinds of absurd dudes. As long as you can manage a huge distributed cluster, as long as you can do maintenance of large projects, as long as you can reverse engineer a competitor's product, they hire you and only after they politely ask you to shower at least once per week.

Clearly if you have some acne, you can be a system programmer, but you can't be a PR dude for some Rotschild bank.
>>
>>37191526
>don't pop pimples
Shit I know they leave scars if you pop them but it's so goddamn hard not too
>>
>>37191589
A guy with the worst acne I've ever seen works at a it place...guess acne doesn't matter in that field if you're good at what you do
>>
>>37191446
Sorry for the extremely late reply.

I work in food service. People have to look at my ugly mug all day while ordering meat and seafood at our grocery store.

I'm a younger male, and what I do is I shave my face every two days, keep a strict non-dairy diet and wear a fuckton of makeup.

Foundation and concealer can be picked up practically anywhere. I wore it to my three interviews and most days of the work week.

Ideal? No.
Can I work, and can I work in an environment where how clean you look matters?
Yeah.
>>
>>37191760
Yeah I'm gonna start wearing some concealer..I just don't want it to be too noticeable so I'm probably not gonna give my while face with it
>>
>>37191821
*cover my whole face with it
>>
>>37190371
Depends, if you're 20 or so, you're fine, you can reasonably pass that off as just being young, anything older than 20 and you need to see a dermatologist about it.
>>
>>37191840
Yeh I'm only 18 so maybe the employer will understand a bit more
>>
>>37191873
18? Lad you're fine, I doubt as long as you look clean, well dressed, and well-groomed, you're golden. Acne will go away with age.
>>
>>37191921
Lol I hope so I didn't start getting acne till the start of this year and it's been hellish but hopefully it'll go away soon
