Pokemon is a great game and really addicting
It's pretty amazing how simple the game is and how well it stands against today's games that are all about realistic graphics and shit. pokemon is really versatile and it seems like each generation, all they have to do is add one new element to the gameplay and it completely revolutionizes the franchise

The power creep is fucking ridiculous, though.

One of the many mon with great designs that unfortunately suffers from "middle evo syndrome". You use them for such a short time and there's hardly any motivation to not evolve them as there's no stat trade off for doing so.

I agree. in some ways I even like him more than gengar, despite gengar being my favorite. I really like his design as it is more like an actual ghost, whereas gengar is... whatever the fuck he is. he also looks scarier (not that I'm scared of him, you know what I mean) than gengar, which I appreciate considering he's a ghost pokemon. his fan art tends to be better as well.

I like Gengar because he's been a huge threat in the meta game for a while now. Two fantastic STABs and a sub/disable set absolute dismantles so many strategies. He also has tons of variety, too, though like hypnosis, thunderbolt, and will o wisp. It's a huge threat that is hard to predict. That and the design is dope as fuck.

Go on about how you're the only wolf among sheep though. I'm sure it'll help make a lot of friends.

Gen 3 would have been ideal if it had the physical/special split. It's a real shame that it ended up on the cusp like that. Gen 2 was also awesome because of its spooky vibes but it wasn't as fresh and heart gold/soul silver didn't emulate those vibes well enough. A real shame.

My Snorlax in pokemmo is fucking gangster.
He has really high hp and attack
He knows: Rest, Hyper Beam, Strength, and Belly-Drum

If I carry a ton of awakenings then i'm good, I just use Belly Drum at the beginning of the match and use Hyper Beam on every pokemon and it usually one-hit-kills everything

Colosseum had a really good atmosphere and it was a nice change of pace from the normally 'happy go-lucky' atmosphere of regular Pokemon games.

Imo the only thing that got worse in the single player games was all the hand holding. You have to sit through 4 hours of getting told how shit works until you finally start playing.

Besides that and the stupid power creep, there has been a general improvement. Game mechanics make more sense, the quality of the graphics and the music improves and the plot has more depth as the generations go on. Pokemon designs are not as good as the first couple of gens but you can't blame them since it's a high standard and there's still always a bunch of worthwhile pokes each gen anyways. The post game gets steadily better as well.

Multiplayer wise, though, the first three gens were a complete fucking mess.
