Atheist don't believe in a god because there is no evidence for the existence of one or many gods.
It's not possible to rule out deism and even if there was truly a godlike beeing outside of what we can perceive, worshipping it would be pointless since it's uninvolved and indifferent to our lives but we can point out flaws, contradictions and other bullshit of existing religions and the rules that they bring to the table.
