So I met with my dad for supper yesterday. He didn't want anything fancy so we went to this little hole in the wall restaurant that makes the best god damn pizza I've ever had.

Anyways, there was a low point close to the end of the meal, so I figured that it'd be a good time to tell him about me and L. So I did.
He pretty much reacted they way I thought he would. He gave a mix of a sigh and a 'holy fuck' and just sort of sat there quietly for a bit thinking. Then he asked the pretty standard questions, asking about our well being and if we were sure about this and understood what it met.
Ended up telling him about the conversations me and L had to get to this point.
He just sort of sighed and said that he doesn't really have a right to tell me how to live my life and that I'm responsible for my own actions. He made me promise to never tell his family who L really was if we were all together for whatever reason.

I could tell that he was, at the very least, disappointed by it by the look on his face, but I don't think he had the heart to really confront me about it. Poor bastard probably blames himself to some degree for walking out.

All and all, not the worst thing that could have happened, but I do think it might have done some degree of damage to the relationship between me and my father.

L was freaking out Tuesday night when I told her I was going to meet him. She wanted to wait, but I eventually convinced her that it needed to happened at some point or another.
Admittedly, I think it's pretty cute, but when she gets really nervous about something she starts bounced her right leg up and down really fast.

Apparently she was a mess at work yesterday, when she finally got home she looked utterly exhausted. She was dying to know how it went, and after some warm honeyed milk and a retelling of the night she was visibly relieved.

Have you played any Medieval 2 overhaul mods? The Last Kingdom is a great one set during the Viking invasions, it's really well made and you can play from the Normans to the Saxons/Angles and Norsemen themselves. There's also Europa Barbarorum 2 set in classical era Europe.

Total War games are pretty neat, though I prefer Crusader Kings 2 since it's a lot more versatile and I like the focus on strategy and dynasty management.
