Day 3 of construction job

Shits good pay for an entry level job 12 an hr (multiply that by 8 hr shift, 96 for you brainlets) but if you can't do at least 15 pullups your gonna be dead by day 1

The guys are pretty fun and the workload is exhausting but nice at the end of day. It's like getting paid to go to the gym.

Pic is day 1 of filling dumpster with 20lb-50lb+ concrete waste. That's all me 7hrs working.

3 years a software dev. Just started a new job at a fortune 50 company making some serious cash as an api developer. I can come and go whenever I want, wear whatever I want, everyone I work with is very smart, and I'm always doing interesting work. Honestly this is a top tier field to work in.

Barback

I'm basically a bartender's assistant. I fucking hate it. They hired me on the basis that they'd train me up into a full bartender. They haven't done so. I know how to make all the drinks and everything but they just let me work the service well when its exceptionally busy.

On top of that I fucking hate it. Its a standard pub/bar but the only times I work are friday/saturday nights when it turns into a club, and then it gets so busy barbacks are required. I hate nightclubs and it drives me insane.

On the plus side after tips I make about 17 bucks an hour, but I'm looking for something else because I'm pretty sick of the place.

Not even a week out of school and already got a job offer with full benefits. 3 days a week, $23.4/hr, additional $4/hr for night shift, additional $4.5 for weekends, differentials stack as well.

I'm a prosthetic technician

Been at it for 9 months, small workshop, no room for progression, basically doing shit kicker work. Paid bad, breathe in a dangerous amount of dust, my eyes have gone to shit from the duay

People respect it though, I make fake legs and foot orthotics for you less in the look robots
>>
3 months into basic ems job. Pretty easy job. You basically put people into the stretcher and into a bed. Drive around everywhere. Do some quick paperwork. Maybe have a few hours doing nothing. Pay is shit though ($13.50 at MA).

I work on rocket engine test equipment as an "engineering technician"

Basically a bunch of engineers tell me how to put test equipment together for them, and I follow the schematics and assemble boxes, make cables, attach them to buildings and shit.

I am also frequently asked to hang TVs, etc. It's a pretty decent gig, good balance of moving and relaxing, and I get paid $21/hr. Needed a 2-year degree for it, though.

Pic related.

Recently my group built up a test rig for that airbag recall. We got asked to independently test the shitty airbag detonators, which, as it turns out, really are just shitty.

Good job OP, proud of you. Assuming you are a burger, there is a huge opportunity for you to advance considering how well you speak english. Just something to consider, there is nothing wrong with working with your hands but it's a young man's game so if you see an opportunity to move into a PM role, I would take it.

(2nd guy here) I graduated with CS and got a job doing android development. They hired me because I showed them an Android game I built over the summer the last year and they were impressed.

I got laid off from that job (corporate bullshit) and hopped from startups and small consulting firms for a while. My manager from the first job really liked me and helped me to get those. Recruiters started contacting me a lot and I would interview at every chance I got. Eventually ended up at a huge company making way more than I should be.

The key to making a lot of money is to switch companies often it seems. When they ask your current salary, you tell them 5k over what you actually make. They'll usually offer another 5k on top of that as incentive to join. Then you get a 10k raise per jump. Trust me, most companies won't give you great raises on their own. If they do then stick with them.

Working Freight at Hardware Store since November. Pays 12 an hour, I get 40-45 hours a week, no one talks to me and I can wear headphones. The physical requirements aren't crazy but I do have to lift 100 pound boxes a few times a night.

are most jobs really hard or stressful?

They won't let you be a bartender becayse you have a terrible personality. I'd bet that's the reason.

Code monkey. I write firmware in a proprietary language. It's okay but the fact that I use a language that is not open (so no stack overflow or any support really) kinda hinders my future job prospects of I ever want to leave my industry. My co-workers are normie resistors tho

>merchandiser
>drive around to 4-5 supermarkets a day
>stock my company's products
>no direct supervision
>"check in/check out/designate travel time with an app on my phone
>can easily fudge the hours
>almost dont have to interact with anyone

the only people i talk to are the store manager when i need to ask them where i can put up a display, or telling a shopperfaggot "no i don't work here' when they ask me where the sugar is.

ex. I can finish a store in 30 minutes but just sit in my car for another 30 and log it as taking me an hour. I can also "travel' for 20 more minutes than it takes to get from store to store and get paid to eat lunch.

>also get $250/month in mileage reimbursement

i highly recommend asocial or misanthropic robots do stocking and then try to get a merch position at frito lay or somewhere else. its tedious work but its not physically demanding and the pay can be up to 17/hr

>>37095465
That job is likely 12 hour days with paid lunch breaks. It works out to be like 38 hours after all the OSHA requirements.

Common in my workplace in motor mixing, since they need people in there 24 hours a day for multi-day rocket motor casting.
>>
>>37095430
I used a dolly for this one, but you have to push though grass behind someone's house to get to the road and that makes it even more difficult. Wheelbarrel on day 2. Its a lot more materical and more work than you think.

Pretty much any medical job, but it's shift work. Before I was a tech but now I'm a nurse. The kicker is if the place let's you schedule your own hours, and many do. It's a two week pay period so you could go balls out for 6 days then larp as a neet the following 8. I'm still making below average but the benefits make up for it with student loan payback bullshit.

RN but in the poorest state in the nation. After I get some experience I want to gtfo to some liberal shit state like Cali where they pay $70+/hr. Not to live, just to shekel up for a bit then come back home.

School was just a hair over $10k for associates, bachelors will be another $12kish, masters/doctorate will be between $35-60k. It definitely puts the work in work but I'd hate doing anything. Worst case scenario I just go back into psych or detention where the nurses don't really do anything. I need to at least try something with actually sick patients so I'm doing stepdown.
