What anime you watching Robots?
I'm re watching NGE.
I recently saw Welcome to the NHK aswell.
It hit me so hard /r9k/, I think I'm even more depressed then I was before. That fucking ending had me crying, Seto and Misaki deserved a happy ending.
Still pretty good though, just fuck I cant deal with this.

K-on and Kemono Friends
After that I'm gonna binge on mecha. I plan on watching Big O, Escaflowne, and Greco
Sato doesn't really 'deserve' anything. He just gets out of life what he puts into it. Which as a neet was next to nothing.
I'd highly reccomend the original novel if you liked the show. It's even more darker and tons down the comedy. A lot of things couldn't really be shown on tv that go on in the novel

i hate sports irl but sports anime are always like distilled shounen for me. Baby Steps has been great so far.
In terms of actually memorable anime though, most recent fucked up/depressing ones (that you might like >>37092964) I've watched have been Haibane Renmei, Psycho Pass & Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam (far more messed up than most would have you believe).
good guy for rewatching NGE, it's probably one of the few anime I've given a rewatch (the other being Rozen Maiden, Serial Experiments Lain & Elfen Lied)
>just rewatched nge
>watched rebuild for the first time
>series ends on a FUCKING CLIFFHANGER

Watch the movies dumb dumb

Big O is great from what I've watched desu
it feels like a Japanese take on the Batman animated series (which is actually quite well-done in itself)
pic somewhat related as it's from full metal panic
which obviously means weird, gadget-based mecha, like if batman outsourced his utility belt to a hulking robot

>Implying I'm a neet

I wanted to like Full Metal Panic, but the school comedy didn't hit it for me
I love the look of Big O. Very stylish.
>>37093292
Rozen Maiden is great. Came for the desu, stayed for Shinku and Suigi
>>37093629
I despised it for this until I got used to the aesthetic (comedic atmosphere, light-hearted combat)
if you can stick FMP out until second raid, the comedy goes away and some serious shit-hits-the-fan character development happens to the main character
Cringe to say but I watched Rozen Maiden as an >underageb& 4channer in highschool for the meme. Got serious good vibes from it, Suigintou was by far my favourite doll & I almost got an unironic waifu crush on her.
Elfen Lied, Paprika & Lucky Star - all of these I purely watched because of 4chan. Now the internet thinks Elfen Lied and Lucky Star are trash but they'll always be highly-rated by me.

If you like Elfen Lied, did you ever see Genocyber?
It's a 6 episode 90s ova with a similar plot about girls being experimented on, turning into monsters, and tonnes of gore.
Up until Traumend Shinku was my favourite doll. Then that did a 180 because holy fuck she acted like a cun in that.
>>37093822
I haven't seen genocyber, I'll check it out. 80s/90s ultra-gore anime/manga I tend to love, pretty sure /d/ memed me into reading Go Nagai as well.
>Shinku acted like a cunt in Traumend
Ouverture was so much worse for Shinku-scumbagness.
Neither Traumend nor Ouverture are completely in the manga's canon, but that being said I loved Ouverture for explaining the whole "janku" trigger word for suigintou
I just finished season one of Durarara. Really good anime, would recommend.
>>37093902
I really didn't like Ouverture. In the end it turns out nothing mattered at all. Except Souseiseki is dead but that's it.
Ultragore anime is a tonne of fun. Nothing better than drinking on Friday night and watching random vhs transfer quality ovas on youtube because the copyright holders don't exist anymore
>Go Nagai
Have you read Getter Robo? I really need to get into that and Devilman.
>>37094084
You should watch the rest of the seasons and see how you still feel about the show. A lot of people didn't like the second and third seasons.
I do overall still like the show, but I can agree that the 1st season was the best.
>>37092964
It's a perfect ending for the series.
A happy one would have ruined the message.
>>37094119
>Getter Robo
A little of it. It's good, though I think I was too much of a real robot puristfag at the time to get used to it. Mostly it seems aimed at teenagers, whereas I was more into Devilman & Violence Jack because they were filled with gore and nudity.
Devilman was a fucking masterpiece, had one of the best endings I've ever read. Haven't read the sequel (Devilman Lady) or interquels to it yet.
>>37094311
Of course, but that's the worse thing. Life really is unresolved trauma where you might never win. Of course though you gotta wander how someone from a third world country would view this.
I haven't been watching anime lately, but since you mentioned Welcome to the NHK, I just recently gotten the novel. Haven't read it yet though.
> wants to watch anime like NGE but no idea how to procure it reasonably
>>37095818
bruh, literally just google watch anime online if you want to stream it. or go to any torrent site and get the episodes you want.
>>37092964
I'm currently watching Little Witch Academia, Ero Manga Sensei, Clockwork Planet, Berserk, and My Hero Academia
>>37095818
lolololiginal
>>37094361
>Haven't read the sequel (Devilman Lady)
It's alright. It has a better buildup to the apocalypse than Devilman, but the apocalypse itself isn't as good. The ending is batshit and entirely out of left field but in a bad way.
Also Getter Robo is a masterpiece and you should read it RIGHT NOW.
>tfw you got all that you wanted out of anime
just watching 3 anime shows currently airing
