i think the first time i heard about it was by reading a wikipedia meta-article about internet trolls. at first i didn't get the concept but later i kept seeing memes in all sorts of places and then found out they all originated here

by now everything is contaminated by toxic /pol/-ideology, the only boards i go to any more are /his/ and /lit/, though /his/ has been overrun by the alt-right as well. occasionally i check in with /r9k/ because it used to be my main board but it's too far gone to be enjoyable in larger doses any more. sometimes i still find good feels or comfy threads here though.
