My hopes are pinned more on meds. I thought I was depressed for years, and had been on meds for that with no luck, but as I've gotten older my symptoms (especially the IBS) have been much more indicative of an anxiety disorder. I've never really seen a psychiatrist either, I went to one of those doctors where it was like "I'm depressed" "OK, here's a prescription" and I think going to somebody who actually tries to figure me out can help.

I've also found that MDMA works REALLY REALLY well on me, which is a good sign that normal anxiety meds will help.

Also, on the MDMA thing, I've had different effects from it than most people report, and everything I've heard says that people it affects like it affected me are good candidates for anxiety meds. It doesn't act like an upper for me, I don't get euphoric or super sensitive or energetic, it just makes me less nervous/scared in social situations. It's like there's a computer in my head constantly running simulations of all of the horrible things that could happen if I fuck up, and molly shuts it off.
