Can someone explain in what way making a collection is a hobby/pastime? Sure it must feel great having a bunch of statuettes but what is the actual hobby/pastime activity involved?

I spend a lot of time researching figures and old releases and stuff. Scouring sites for good deals and things. It sounds really lame and it kind of is but it brings me some level of happiness at least.
I really want to start getting into garage kits, which is buying resin cast kits and assembling and painting them yourself.

I study French and Italian.
I like casually hiking every so often.

Don't really have hobbies, when i get my own house i might start tinkering with small trains and make some autistic setup out of them, either that or some automation stuff around the house

Don't have a camera right now, but I could list a few of my prize specimens if you want.

I like to collect leaflets, pamphlets, flyers, etc, or just junk advertising and cut it up and make collages out of them.
Sometimes they have themes, other times they're just random collages of weird looking crap.

I used to collect rizla packets and filter boxed and spend hours cutting them up into tiny confetti (I stored the confetti in big fluffy winter hats) and ended up with about 28 hats full in the end.
I stopped smoking and after that I needed to cut things up again and now I use it as a way of making something pretty to put on my cabinet
