My Cyberpunk persona is a friendly, giant terminator style street samurai who'll feel little to nothing bustin' up punks but will go out of his way to buy candy for a kid and then will put on a big corny grin as the kids jump and run in glee.

My fantasy persona is either a high intelligence low combat rogue who's amazing at laying traps and pickpocketing but is terrible at combat, sadly I didn't come up with this idea myself and this idea has kind of died out with the recent changes to my main fantasy system (DND)

I have actually gotten to play that character in tabletop games, online and in real life, and it's always pretty fun. Most role-playing groups are full of chaotic good moral subjectivists, so throwing a character with a very staunch morality they believe to be the only valid moral system into the mix creates good party conflict.

I think most people's characters are inspired by other sources. Mine are too, I just mix and match influences and then morph them over time, so they're not recognizable carbon copies of anything. Muscle Mage.
This has always been my favorite.
Equal parts strength and intelligence with an emphasis on tank stats too. Would use a giant runic sword that requires "a warriors hand and wizards mind to wield".
Basically high magic and melee damage with superior natural health and defenses, mix of plate armor and robes yet slow and not dexterous to balance.
Mage tank was always a cool concept to me.
Basically a wizard occultist who understands the true balance of mind and body is key to prosperity and proper power.
Would be neutral good or lawful neutral.
Happy, jolly, robust and gentlemenly nature treating friends and foes alike with the utmost respect.

Also always been a big fan of classic zealous paladin or mad necromancer since I was young.

But as I've matured I've distilled my interests down to this.
A muscley martial artist, burst aoe healing, divine damage doing war monk would also fit.
Trading superior damage and inherent tankiness for agility and healing.

Any mix of magic and melee is my gig.

A young, moderately powerful wizard that decided to put his magical abilities to practical use by adventuring rather than dedicating myself to real academic pursuit.

I would be powerful enough to hold my own and be impressive, but not too powerful that there wouldn't be any conflict (fun). I'd have a band of warrior companions, and I'd be the de facto leader due to the usefulness of my powers; also, they'd all be burly and muscular guys that I would fool around with, and maybe have relationships with.

StarWars: Mando'a who was initially trained to be a jedi but had no talent for most force abilities; master was killed on a mission and he was presumed dead as well. Turns to working odd jobs and collecting bounties to survive. Being force sensitive helps him survive dangerous lines of work; he can't exert his will over the force to do things like move an object or choke an opponent, but rather uses it to heighten things like intuition and reflexes. Is also a raging autist and builds droids to be his companions since he can't into social interaction.

Other: heavily inspired by pic related. No name, no allegiance, just an otherworldly being that likes to observe the events unfolding in a world. Can teleport from place to place and doesn't age, he occasionally meddles in affairs and sets up elaborate plots that can last lifetimes to complete in the name of entertainment.

Immortality Seems pretty comfy I would like to wander the world and experience all walks of life, all periods of history, every civilisation and culture's rise and fall. I want to see it all with my own eyes, I want to master every trade and skill with my limitless free time. I would like to become a legend, a myth and watch as people forget my name and be lost to history and not for first time. Preferably I would want to have a weakness so I could off myself if I really needed to.

I would be a fantasy wanderer with a huge backpack that gets even bigger on the inside (kind of like the TARDIS in Doctor Who). The backpack would be my home and my item stach where i store all kinds of things from all over the world : weapons, potions, rare plants, stones, small creatures and mysterious one use items. Basically everything that i find interesting i will put it in my backpack. A half elf ace type of character- good at being a rogue, mage and swordsman. He grew up poor because his parents withdrew from elven and human society to become nomads, but they were killed by a group of bigots- some orcs and humans from a village his parents and he were staying in killed them for having a superior offspring (obviously they think half elves are sub humans, but only because they're different and better). He gets resentful of humans for killing his parents, elves for not accepting his father (elve) and through this hate he began hating orcs for being corruptions of elves and his fellow half elves for being impure spirits as well. So basically he hates all these major races and every chance he got he killed them, and plotted to kill his team mates too, when they're no longer useful. Every campaign he just focuses on getting more and more overpowered until he can start killing other races off. He realizes that if he tries cosmic beings will interfere with his plans and kill him.

Self inserts, usually quiet guys that shape scenarios behind the scenes, manipulating party members. In the end when I get my end result, my other team mates turn on me for what I've done. Sometimes they kill me, usually I take them down with me, and sometimes I have to cry, killing them.

I'd be your classic knight from some other castle/land you haven't heard about, armored upper torso with baggy trousers tucked into high boots. Has a strange face/disposition on his helmet. Really jolly and social when with the party and at taverns, but would often just draw/paint in his room until he falls asleep, nearly every night like an alcoholic.

Eventually you'll notice that his paintings seem to have a mysteriously recurring theme in them, as if he paints out of obligation and emotional baggage. After becoming close, you find out he's from a land/castle that has been ruined for centuries now, and that he can't explain the living memories of how he spent his youth and early life there, almost getting married to the love of his life who's probably dead now.

Throughout the journey he'll often doubt whether those memories are even real at all and if he's schizophrenic. He sees his memories in his dreams and tries to paint them out to make them feel as real as possible, but often will doubt himself thinking that he's an amnesiac and a fraud. If you give enough emotional support, eventually you can choose to travel to his land together, and THAT will be a story for you to find out :)

Totally, come to think of it I find a lot of similarities between season 5 of Samurai Jack and Berserk, and Samurai Jack is definitely you're classic dex fag. I'd think that as a protagonist, I'd probably armor up with something a bit untraditional, but certainly lighter than pic related. Also, I'd equip myself with a glaive since I feel that's something worth of slaughtering demons, and isn't a hunk of metal I cry over.

I have two.
One is in a fantasy world.
He's be a young adult with weak magical powers. This is a more standard kind of self-insert character. He would use his magic to enhance his fighting abilities instead of shitting out fireballs and stuff. A kind of sarcastic but friendly character, always shows up in the nick of time to save the day.

Ive had a fantasy persona I created years ago and think up adventures for whenever im alone, bored, or want to escape reality. Pretty autismo but here it is

A black mage (final fantasy kind with the shadowy face) with van-helsing style clothes and gear, weapons of choice are a silver sword, pyromancy, and a pistol with different kinds of bullets for fighting certain enemies. Had his village destroyed by monsters when he was young and became a monster hunter when he got older. He is an expert at monster slaying like a witcher, but has the personality of solaire from dark souls. Over time I also made up a friendly skeleton warrior, and a qt white mage as companions that help him on his monster hunting adventures.

Prepare for autismo
A 3 foot raccoon that is colored very dark shades of grey and black. The stripes and mask-like face are hard to differentiate but one can see them if they look hard enough. Eyes are completely white and fairly big. They also give out a tiny bit of a white glow.
This raccoon is apart of the "Shadow Rodents" race. This race is largely unknown in the current time but in the past was highly discriminated against due to their mischievous nature and uneasy appearance. Ever since their civilization around the great "Gloom Bloom" (huge dark daisy that looks like a humongous tree) fell, they were largely forgotten and reside in dark forests. Those that do remember the lore and presence of these creatures discriminate against them, but these people are usually people with extremely high education of history.
This particular rodent is named "Shrapnel" and is fairly kind but has huge anxiety problems, commonly residing in dark areas to avoid social contact. He has the voice and personality of a 14-15 year old. Most think little of him when they see him, but after after talking and interacting they seem to gain a generally positive opinion on him.
He lives in a dark forest, eating whatever he can get his hands on. Despite the large amount that he eats, he stays rather thin. He doesn't commonly hunt but when he does he hunts fish and beetles. He fishes for fish by small boulders into the water and hitting the fish, and sells these fish for money. His actual living quarters change day to day since he makes small holes and shelters around the forest. When he feels extremely pressured, he changes his appearance by putting on a hoodie like pic related (he is normally naked), and acts like a cocky arrogant bastard until the situation changes. He looks like pic related during this time. He also has really bad manners with or without his other personality.

Shrapnel is extremely fast and quiet, would essentially be your perfect thief if he had the motive to steal. He can change his claws to be 50x their current length (they are usually cat claw size) and have them change form to a purple glowing ghostly type weapon. It phases through solid items and claws at the persons soul, causing for exhaustion an a feeling of burning within them. He can also exert large purple spikes from his tail, but these ones actually act like spikes, not ghostly phase weapons. Shrapnel doesn't like to use these powers, but when he feels cornered and helpless, he lashes out. He also likes to collect the fruit of sanbox trees and uses them as grenades. He stores these guys in metal canisters that he buys and he puts the canisters in his extremely fuzzy tail that can act as a storage device.

In a world where magic is commonly seen as either the power of gods, or demons. As in, use outside of the priests / church is considered heresy. With all kinds of blood magic, rituals, soul trapping etc motivating them to keep it under wraps. I'm a student at the church because magic is cool as fuck and I want some, gradually expanding my interest outside of that secretly during my rebellious teens before eventually being discovered and leaving. Moving to another country with less restrictive views on magic, hunting monsters and stealing their souls to craft enchantments, researching ancient ruins and vampire dens and shit in search of more and more powerful spells. Learning to build golems and summon spirits and reanimate corpses to give myself a posse of minions because I'm a lonely solo player and I'm getting in over my head.

Becoming somehow crippled during my adventures and then experimenting with changing and enhancing my own body. Eventually culminating in a quest to acquire the materials like dragon bones / fangs, roots from a rare ancient tree, adamantine ore from the heart of a volcano, dust ground from the hardest diamond, etc to create my new body and perform the ritual to become a lich. I'm not sure where the story would go from there. Maybe some epic battles with the country's army and fighting against a summoned hero or something.

Whether I'm at the office or at my room, I always end up pretending I'm piloting a mobile suit. I'll make the movements on my chair and sometimes even make noises if I know I'm alone.
