Do you ever think maybe a big reason many of us are so fucked up is from using the computer all the time?
I think if you sit in front of a screen 12+ hours a day for years on end you're bound to become a wretched shell of a human being who can't into real life
Has anyone tried giving up computers/internet? How did it go?
p-please respondo
i can't live without it because life is so mundane

i spend 14-16 hours even on work days
it probably is what made me into a disgusting autist but oh well without my computer i would kill myself
I'm not addicted. I just don't have anything better to do. Without my computer I'd just sleep all day or kill myself from boredom.
I think scientists will do brain scans of prolonged daily internet use over many years in the future and see that it has caused serious damage to our brains. I think the PC / internet was released too early to the masses and some people just can't handle the power. The combination is probably more addictive than many drugs, and does more harm than good. Especially when it gets to the point where the PC is just a machine to mash F5 on the same sites over and over again and to download anime and porn. It can't be good for you.

this, once i got a job my browsing went down like 95% there's just nothing else to do and i don't have the energy to be productive unless i'm getting paid
the computer is the best distraction i have. life is about distractions for me. without it i'd sleep 3-5 hours more every day and start actively looking for drugs, i think
I used to spend almost all day everyday on the computer but now I have an outdoors job 4-5 days a week, some nights I won't even bother turning on the anime machine
Honestly it doesn't make me feel any better

I can go cold turkey in power outs better than mom can. She flips out.
Computers a fucking blessing. I can be an introvert recalcitrant arse and meet as many introvert recalcitrant arses as I like every day.
Learn new things constantly.
One day the internet is going to change the world the way the printing press did. Probably already is.
Back then I don't think people were struggling with print addiction.

Yeah i've pretty much ended up where I just waste entire days on the same shitty websites getting that constant amount of stimulation, all while only feeling more empty and unhealthy, so it seems that way to me. But no one else seems to agree.

maybe if you didn't use it you would find something better to do?
when I stopped for a while it seemed like my threshold for stimulation went down so I was more content while doing less stimulating activities

that sucks anon
