I work in an enterprise environment where they need to keep track of devices with their data on it. If my phone is stolen I can remotely brick the hardware and it is well known feature that a lot of people won't even try to keep a stolen ios device and just return it.

If it was an android device you could simply reimage it and use the hardware yourself. I can't have that and is really the only good thing about apple phones.
