I'm living in my truck. Your RV is doubtlessly more comfortable, but having a long bed pickup allows me to always utilize it for moving gigs. It's less conspicuous and easier to drive, sleeping on a bench seat while being 6'3" isn't easy. Do you ever get unwanted police attention?

I'm not OP but my grandfather lived in a caravan for most of his life because he found it comfy. He was a 'wanderlust xd' type of guy. He had this little usb stick type of thing that acted as a mini router so that when he connected it to his laptop he had a stable and good internet connection depending on where he was.

He could literally sit and surf shit in the middle of the forest in his caravan while raining outside, hearing the drops smack against the roof with a nice cup of coffee. Was cool.

I'm also planning on purchasing a caravan.

There's a patch of trees about 50 metres away so I just go there for showers/muh business, I have some shampoo and conditioner so I just fill a really big plastic bowl thing using a bore water tap, works fine but it's really fucking cold so I try to do it during the day

It really isn't too bad. Some of the main issues are hygiene-related (as above), but I have a small fridge, a kettle, some other stuff which makes it more than bearable, and the caravan is about 40 years old but it doesn't have any holes or anything and I have enough blankets to prevent freezing to death. I have issues with boredom and very infrequent human contact but I have a kindle and some books + very small internet allowance from my phone plan so it's not too bad, and I go into town every few days to stock up on food and other stuff I need. I'm busy most days with feeding + rugging the horses, taking the dogs for a run, cleaning up the stable and keeping paddocks bearable for the animals.

A lot of canned food (tuna for protein typically), but I have a microwave and electricity so sometimes I'll get some really shitty meals for that, it's limited by my tiny ass fridge though. All of my money goes into living expenses and I haven't been in a situation where I'm literally starving to death or anything yet

Like others have said you can't just park your van somewhere these days, and unless it's for a limited amount of time the reality is you at least need a reliable source of food/water to go along with your shelter at the bare minimum, but you could potentially live on a small amount of savings for an extended period of time. Bring something to do with you otherwise boredom will kill you first
