good trips, looks like the kinda thing a guy in his mid 30s would use when he wants to pretend to still be young but has lost touch with what is cool.

You know, considering the things soldiers did as far as face paint and armor when going into battle, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a thing for a number of tribe/citystates/civilizations that had access to certain dyes.

Sure, painting one's nails has been feminized in Western society, but it being normal way back in the day would not surprise me.

also apparently it was a gender neutral/class thing in egypt and babylon. Women painting their nails is pretty recent, something to do with automobile paint. Obviously at that point men's fashion was based around minimalism.
