Has anybody else here /discovered the truth/
There is no real hope. We are being deluded by a select few that are trying to impose normie culture on the general population for personal gain. Nothing is special about normies. They have no unique characteristics and make up the majority of the population, hence the name "normie". Because they are indifferent from one another and so insignificant, they seek assurance from others and are happy to accept this "normal" culture in order to get their recognition. The select few try to impose this way of life on us for money and power. They tell you what to dream: a degree from a good college, a good looking wife, a high paying job, and successful children. There is nothing special about normies and without the normie culture they would be as depressed as us. Their culture gives them something essential to a healthy human mind: hope. This sense of hope is false, but they want to believe it, so they do. Those who are different in anyway from the normies or don't adopt their culture are rejected from these normies and harassed and in some cases targeted. This causes them to lack social relationships and their mental health to deteriorate. They don't have a false sense of hope they can believe in, so they chose another path: suicide. Normally, the people controlling the population couldn't care less, but they have to for several reasons: it is seen as immoral so politicians and local leaders discourage it, and its one less slave to be in the workforce, participate in the economy, and pay taxes. Once you attempt suicide you are sent to a psych ward, not to get better, but to scare and force you into becoming a functioning member of society. They don't care enough about you to spend the recourses necessary to actually help you, and they can't force normies to accept you.

Half of me wants to give the "special snowflake" speech, but as I read on I saw something different. What your posts lacks in profundity in makes up for in a subtle truth that is easily overlooked: there is no correct way to live. Sure, there are ways that are appropriate for most based on taste, but I wonder how many bodies were left in the dust in the pursuit of an unnatural existence. By this I don't mean innawoods or churn butter or shit, but that type of person who could live fine driving a bullshit car instead of getting a loan the size of a home loan twenty years ago for... a fucking car. Just a car. Four wheels, mostly metal, goes fast; a car.
You can't survive if you walk to hard against their grain, they'll destroy you. I think the best you can do is join their system but subvert their actions for your own pleasure. Something like a low-key villain that nobody notices. That'll be your quiet declaration of freedom in your lifelong slavery

I didn't find it screamingly profound, but I did ruminate on the point he made. How many have gone crazy trying to "fit-in" where had they just attempted to work for themselves, they might have stayed together.
I think it's important to make a sort of Frankenstein's monster of a life. Piece together what works for you. Try to reduce personal suffering and be prepared for the eventual worst. Dedicate your life to keeping a roof over your head by "normie" means but sperg on your own time. That's what I'm trying to do. Hard, but not impossible

There's some truth in this. The normies around you who aren't completely stupid have most likely figured out that culture doesn't have any objective meaning and that there's nothing objectively meaningful about most of their goals and pursuits. But they stay in it and play the game because... what alternatives are there really, for most people? Most people, at some point in their development after their edgy teenage phase if they have it, decide to make peace with the establishment and seek happiness in the activities that are culturally sanctioned to them. So they work on a career, try to get laid, eventually try to have a family, etc.
Of the people who reject the culture they live in, you get two types. The most pointless and sad of all three types of people, which you seem to fit into, are those who realize that there's no objective point to people's goals and the system is rigged shittily against them, and just kinda stick around in it whilst being aware that it's shitty, but not wanting to engage with the game to make anything better for them. So they become NEETs, or alcoholics, or they get stuck in a dead end job and know that is sucks but they don't do anything to get out, etc. But then there are the rare people who choose to reject their culture and find happiness in doing whatever they want to do that doesn't fit into it. Here you have your artists, deviants, activists, schizophrenics, survivalists, and weirdos of all different sorts.
You can decide to do whatever the fuck you want with your life. You live in America I assume, not fucking North Korea. So you have a great degree of freedom whether you see it or not. But if you're just gonna be aware of how things work and mope over it, that's not much fun.

Pretty sure I am biologically programmed to want a gf, the things I can buy with money and to find children cute.
It is more like the powers that be exploit human nature.
Also it is not the illuminati, just humans who find themselves in positions of power in large part due to luck.

nah, the art scene is the same as every other job. Networking, meetings, performance reports, halo effect, nepotism, etc. It only looks free and cool. Trust me, it's the same shit in every human system. There is truly no escape, unless you only create for yourself, but eventually you'll find the impetus for creating was, at some level, to impress others

Eh. I thought about that. And that's true in a lot of cases, but I was thinking more about artists who go really "out-there" and don't operate in that framework. And some art forms suit themselves better for that than others. Writers and musicians are the most equipped to come out untainted by commercialism, I think. And visual artists to some extent, although if they want it to be a source of income they'll have to play the system quite a bit. But people who don't necessarily have to cooperate with others to make art are the most likely to be genuine and not influenced by pressures from their culture.

Like I said, you lose some rocket sauce when you go waaaay out there. It's just hard to write a tune when you're sure it won't be heard. Just speaking from personal experience desu, might just be me. I found it much easier to focus and put in work when I knew I'd be in front of a bunch of judgemental eyeballs at the end of the week
