Are you really too young to remember pre-2001? Pre-9/11? When not everything everywhere was "but muh Muslim terrorist"? When you could walk right up to the gate of a plane without a ticket (like if you were picking someone up), and they served actual meals with real metal cutlery? You didn't even need to show an ID--just walk through the security gate and show your ticket to get on.

Hated the general vibe of american culture at the time, but it was ok. I think my favorite years of growing up were 2003 to 2010 or so. I felt since 07 bad times were ahead, but it wasn't until 2011 that things in my life started to get extremely shitty and there was no going back.

Well, I went to ghetto street high schools and middle school full of ignorant black people, and my Dad was just starting to turn the corner into his long downward spiral into insanity, so I'd say the early 2000s kinda sucked. Internet was a bit nicer back then, but everything else blew chunks for me.

Really only remember glimpses of school, being sick and taken along with my mom to her job as maid, playing the Nintendo 64 with my best friend and the rest is blank due to some severe traumas
