How do you look back on the early 2000s now?
>>
>>36930498
Fondly, it was before the iPhone and Tumblr came along
>>
2000-2006 will forever be the best years of my life.
>>
>>36930498
i'd sell my soul and my left testicle to go back
>>

my teens were tainted by her death
>>
Are you really too young to remember pre-2001? Pre-9/11? When not everything everywhere was "but muh Muslim terrorist"? When you could walk right up to the gate of a plane without a ticket (like if you were picking someone up), and they served actual meals with real metal cutlery? You didn't even need to show an ID--just walk through the security gate and show your ticket to get on.

Freedom went to shit on 9/11/01, which is exactly what the "terrorists" planned.
>>
They were the beginning of the end.
>>
>>36930758
Right there with you. Such a carefree time.
>>
>>36930758
Same here. No stress and I was genuinely happy.
>>
>>36930875
Everything from the 80s until now was the begging of the end.
>>
Hated the general vibe of american culture at the time, but it was ok. I think my favorite years of growing up were 2003 to 2010 or so. I felt since 07 bad times were ahead, but it wasn't until 2011 that things in my life started to get extremely shitty and there was no going back.
>>
1997-2002 was the best and it's been all downhill since
>>
>>36930873
>b-but my Patriot Act is keeping trillions of Americans safe, a-anonsan!

While we might have lost our freedoms that day Bush transformed the position of American President into the most powerful on earth, and gave himself the capability to spy on anyone at anytime.
>>

Innocence lost, man. I was pretty young around then, so 2000-2008 will always be one perpetual summer vacation in my memories.
>>
>>36931302
And more "I'm going to be the most transparent administration ever" kept and expanded them.
>>
The world was so much more innocent. I guess it couldn't last, but fuck, I wish I could have gone to college in the 90s. It's filled with SJWs now. I always wanted that comfy college experience but it doesn't really exist anymore, college sucks desu.

Well, I went to ghetto street high schools and middle school full of ignorant black people, and my Dad was just starting to turn the corner into his long downward spiral into insanity, so I'd say the early 2000s kinda sucked. Internet was a bit nicer back then, but everything else blew chunks for me.

Song plays in my head and I think of simpler times. I was young then but I'd for a chance to see what it was like. Maybe I'd like it more then now, maybe not. Maybe I just romanticize it.

Really only remember glimpses of school, being sick and taken along with my mom to her job as maid, playing the Nintendo 64 with my best friend and the rest is blank due to some severe traumas

simpler but not necessarily better than. I was young, poor and directionless. now I'm just older, poor and lonely.

I've been having a lot of difficulty recently with the fact that a lot of my childhood is just blank. It's all repressed memories due to the abuse I suffered, but it feels like I was dead, rather than I was being abused. Which makes me feel like death would just be the good parts of childhood.
Haha.

No desire to return to video game addiction. I have spent my whole life on the internet or on a console. I have no friends. I'm a NEET, a virgin. I've truly missed out on life because I sought out escapism. All my memories and life experiences are levels in a video game or reminiscence over forum posts. I have left no mark on this world, it's like I don't even exist.

The internet was a mistake. we can't raise kids on it.

2000 was the best year ever.
In 2001, things started to get worse.
2004 was the absolute rock bottom.

I'm not a fan of early 2000s nostalgia (except for the year 2000), so I hate to admit this: early 2000s were generally better than 2015 and onwards.

I've seen it all anon. Eventually you will just get tired with vidya. You'll realize you're just plugged into the matrix and lose all enjoyment. There are more like me out there, who have lived there whole lives through the computer screen and have 15+ years of useless internet knowledge. Don't go down my path. Save yourself or you will wake up one day to realize another 5 years just passed you by in a millisecond and you haven't done anything with yourself.
>>
I don't really remember.

I don't remember much of the late 2000s either. I remember a bit of the early 10s I guess. Mostly the video games I played and animes I watched, though. Nothing related to culture.
