Seems like this is the most appropriate thread to ask. I want to start watching Jojo but apparently this series has spanned several years, is there a new anime I should start with or one that is more recent? I want to start the story from the beginning.

Watch the anime for the first 2 arcs, read the manga for the rest. Start reading on bato.to (you need an account but it takes 5 seconds to make). The colored version of the manga is ugly so avoid them and read the B/W version instead.

the anime's pretty good, the david productions version not the ovas. start with jojos bizarre adventure (2012), which covers the first two seasons, phantom blood and battle tendency. then stardust crusaders part one and two, then diamond is unbreakable. this summer an OVA is coming out called "so spoke rohan kishibe", which is a side-story that takes place after diamond is unbreakable. all i have to say is the first few episodes start kinda slow
