Every human realizes that other individuals are just as filled with complex feelings, and thoughts at a certain age. Adults that still believe that "they're the main character" or that "they have superpowers" have not mentally matured yet.

Given the nature of how people around seem to just do their thing, then I never see that same person again, and I've lived here for 14 years. It makes me think these NPCs despawn when I'm not around.

It feels like a 3rd of people around me have nothing beyond generic script.

I used to be a depressed, anxious piece of shit who was too afraid of the opinions of others to do anything at all. Then I discovered the joys of solipsism and it has changed my life immeasurably for the better. I'm not sure now whether others are actually conscious beings or not, but it's far easier to treat them as if they're mindless automatons.
