and i'm not even ashamed to admit it. i've never liked games like that before and i can't watch anime because all the cute girly stuff disgusts me, but i really did enjoy LiS for some reason.

except for the final episode, it sucked. felt way too rushed.
but other than that it really was a great game.

I really enjoyed Telltale's stuff, so I decided I'd give Life is Strange a shot last year.

I felt the dialogue was really forced, and I related more to the asshole dickbag characters we were supposed to dislike instead of the sad blue-haired best friend/potential lover they were going for.

I feel like Max herself is fine as a protagonist, but some of the choices they gave me that were supposed to be "hard" made me think more "do i do the thing that'll keep my friend(s) happy, or do i do the correct moral thing that ensures the survival of a human being" or something along those lines.

The game isn't dogshit awful like I've seen a lot of people try to paint it as, but I can't honestly recommend it to the average person who likes choice-based video games.

I'm not a professional reviewer please excuse my rambling.

Ending was shit and it felt like your choices only mattered on a superficial level, like all of the games based on this shitty formula

I felt the same about the choices and ending & even though it was set it HS, it really made me wish I went to a dorm college instead of a community & just commuting to a 4 year afterward. Felt like I missed out on a lot.

Experience shows I tend to always hate high school dramas. There are the personal reasons that it brings bad memories, but the plots always tend to hinge around characters being over emotional and the dialogue is always made of sarcastic quips. Maybe it's fine because it's supposed to be realistic, but I just don't care.

I really like the whole concept of the game even though I think Blinx executed it better. Life is Strange had a better story than Blinx though.

Sort of. The writing was pretty horrid, the choices you made were only superficial aside from few key plotpoints and the characters were cringe overlords.
Much of the dialogue seemed so fucking unnatural and poorly written. It also seemed like that the devs realized that their "your actions change everything" shit wouldn't work out too well and looked like the budget was getting tighter and tighter so the end result was quite a mess.
I enjoyed the first half of the game honestly aside from the shitty characters that I did learn to tolerate overtime.
The second half was bad and the whole ending was the most unsatisfying piece of shit ending ever created.
One could say that its about the journey, not the destination. I would agree if everything wasn't pointing to some complex, grand finale that would blow me away. Part of the reason that kept me going even after the shitty episodes was the hope of a great ending, but it was the most disappointing shit ever.

It was kind of exciting to be waiting for a new episode everytime, but later on it became a real drag. Honestly the game would have benefited from a smaller scale story, leave out most of the absurd murder bullshit and the whole world ending scenario.
It could have been just a story about someone gaining time powers and eventually ruining both themselves and everyone around them but instead they had to create this unnecessary, boring and poorly made murder "mystery" and world ending scenario.
Maybe next time they realize that sometimes just focusing on a smaller scale and doing it to perfection is the right way to go.

It was interesting and comfy as fuck. In today's gaming market that's all you really need to make a smashing success. It fell apart at the end but it still wrapped up the story with a basic conclusion in both endings. I liked it, wouldn't replay (well maybe the wandering around the school scenes, those were top tier comfy)
