wage slaving at McDicks in Germany originally from Balkan.
Getting 8.8 euros an h probably 6 euros net last salary was 950euros with 162 hours.

I fucking hate it, managers are too fucking into it and if you make some stupid trivial mistake its like we are working on space shuttle and not hamburgers.

Coworkers are also fucking double faces hypocrites making jokes with you and once you joke with them they feel fucking offended.
They dont have anything in their misreble lifes so they want to stir shit on work.

I will quit this month.

Costumer Service Executive for a global travel agency.

It's pretty relaxed, organising hotel shit for the richfags while being presented an unlimited amount of coffee and one warm meal per day.

Getting paid around 2K euro/month before taxes.

By the way, I work full time in a warehouse. It's nice since I do a lot of data entry and not as much packing since the company isn't even that big. In fact, for the last hour I just shitpost on 4chan until my shift is up. I make 12/hour and work 4 days a week, and there's no dress code/uniform and I don't have to talk to anyone. Pretty comfy, and I enjoy it, though I plan on saving up enough to go back to college to study computer science.

Bank Teller

Have to deal with my coworkers ignoring me disrespecting me and excluding me from the group. Then they ask me what's wrong? Or why am I not a smiling?

Then after getting shitted on I take a customer in the teller line and they give me lip or some sort of attitude.

>they never ask me that
>are you new or something
>no not there

WELL HAVE YOUR SHIT READY YOU STUPID OLD FUCK AND TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DO. I CSNT READ YOUR FUCKING MIND.

One of my coworkers said

>Hey anon have you seen the show nobody likes anon?

Say no and ignore him.

Another one says

>he just creeps me out I can't look at him in the face

Everyone is always talking behind my back. Why should I care about them why should I be kind to people who do not care about me? I never did anything to these people. Some other person just keeps calling me names and trying to give me attitude. I could take them out so easily. They are a bunch of deformed midget I could and they wouldn't say that to me if we were alone

Work at a McDicks part time while I go to uni. I get minimum wage which is $10.50 in my state, but I only work about 20 hours a week. Don't mind it too much, the owners are huge jews but the customers are actually somewhat tolerable, my coworkers are OK and my managers are pretty chill. I'm quitting in a month since I'm getting a non-sworn position at my campus police department, though that's only going to pay $11 an hour.

they are gas lighting you, they want you to snap so you make scene and that they could fire you and talk about you for few days in their misrable lives.
Dont go under pressure. Just dont give fuck and act like robot without emotions be overly professional.

On my McDicks jobs people are also like this, they joke with you but soon as you joke with them back they are offended and want to put you in grave fucking faggots.
You cant even talk to them or ask them any questions because they are constantly irritated by something.
I dont communicate anymore with them just wait for my work to finish

Night shift at McDonalds, 4 days a week.
I make about 500 uk quid a fortnight. So around 650 Americuck dollars.

Night shift is okay. I work every weekend though, but my job is deep cleaning (I do the 'daily clean' or 'big clean' of the vats, steamers, grills etc). Then in the morning before I finish I clean up the outside of the store and bin area.

It's surprisingly alright, and I love the people I work with.

I'm coming on 30 though.

After rent/bills etc, I usually have around 500 a month to kick about with. (sharing the bills is good.) I spend it mostly on clothes and comics, and never leave the house.

I'm saving to get on the property market and get myself my own house.

Gonna buy a new bmx soon too I think.

I just applied at my local superstore, they have been emailing me and seem interested, if I manage to land this it will be my first job.

>>
>>36905430
Don't spend your entire paycheck on stupid shit anytime you get paid like normalfags do when working their first jobs.
>>
>>36905430
Gamble your paycheck on Ethereum future contracts via online
>>
>>36905430
dont relax around coworkers too much or talk to them to much, if you dont like something or its bothering you keep it for yourself or else they will use it against you.

Seem like you are always working something even if you dont have anything to do because they will hang you by balls if they see you standing.

dont put pressure on yourself too much if you screw up.
>>
>>36905389
You dumb shit, god put her there for you, so go talk to her!
>>
>>36905430
>>36905430
Ignore all females coworkers
>>
>>36905217

I'm gonna try to describe this as best as I can. The other anon nailed it in his post, I just want to add more detail.

You don't necessarily HAVE to do this, but you might be canned for "not fitting in/ not fitting in the culture". Anyway.

Above all, laugh off everything they do. Start making it look ridiculous that they could ever be mean to you, a.k.a. make them look bad for hating you. Anytime you're interacting with them, out-smile them. I'm not saying get along with them, but try to be the happier person. A hearty laugh helps a lot.

You'll eventually make them look like petty retards.
>>
>>36905430
See
>>36905485
>>36905522

Both good advice.

Save some money. I spend money all the time, yet seem to always keep around 1400-2000 in my bank account. You'll have a few months where you don't really buy much which helsp kick up the pennies.

Also in regards to co-workers, never get involved in drama. If someone is bitching about a co-worker, listen, but say you've never had an issue. (even if co-worker they're bitching about is a cunt) If you agree with them THEY WILL USE YOU AS THEIR BACK UP SOURCE.

>>36905575
This I disagree with. female co-workers in retail situations are utter cunts, but tend to be utter dirties as well lad.

If you're in a relationship then ignore them, your partner will become a hostile cunt towards any female you talk to and like that isn't her.

If you're working full time, you're making like 2k a month, how are you not able to afford living on your own?

You could be leasing a car and renting a house if you're working 40 hr work weeks at 12.50/hr...
>>

>>
I work as a Recreation Assistant at an indoor pool. It's part-time. $8.50/hr.

Somewhat chill job, checking people in and registering them for memberships or classes if they want. Closes at 11am but reopens at 1pm, so if I come in mid-day, there are a couple of hours where I'm just sitting there doing nothing. There are some days when I don't even process a single transaction. Not that I'm complaining.

My co-workers and customers are pretty chill, but I've got something big coming up career-wise that I'll move on to the second I get the chance.

The day before that I got hit on by this crazy chick who was suicidal. A week before that this woman confessed to me about the shame she felt for being a heroin addict despite having rich parents who loved and supported her. Another one of my regulars is slowly dying from a brain disorder and she wants to hurry it along to spare her children and save herself the humiliation of people seeing her, a former business owner, withering away. I work for a Trader Joes, starting pay is $13.50, with a 60-80 cent raise every 6 months.
The job itself is pretty rad, It's a very small Trader Joes with enough to do to keep you constantly busy. I'm getting about 30-35 hours a week on average.
I just think the people at work don't like me, and some of that might be because I snitched on a co-worker who was training me

>First night closing, still being trained.
>He told me to clean the registers "Top down", by cleaning from the tops of the check out to the floors
>When I pulled out the trash on one register, I accidentally set the bin on the counter top
>He immediately comes up and disciplines me on how I now need to re-clean the surface of the check-out
>I apologize and said it was a simple mistake
>He says "Look man, If you don't want to take this seriously, then you can just leave and help them(People stocking shelves), I'm not gonna waste time on you if you're not gonna listen"

I was taken aback but I just kept working and ignored it. A few weeks later, the head manager asked if everything was okay and if anything weird happened. I let slip that the only thing that happened was that, but otherwise, all was great. He took it seriously and said "This isn't the first complaint we've received about him" and said he would have a talk with him.
Ever since then, the guy hasn't said a fucking word to me. Nor will any of his friends. they all just glare at me. A few people there are pretty cool, though. It's a nice place to work, but it's hard to avoid him.
Or, nobody talks to me because I'm a fucking Autist. Who knows.

TL:DR I accidentally snitched on the cool kid and now hardly anyone talks to me.

At what point does wagecuck become a salaryfag?

For reference I am turning 25 in a few months. I started at 22 at 110k and got up to 122k over the past few years. This also doesn't include bonuses which are twice a year and range from 2-3k.

I don't spend too much money honestly, so I generally just save. My biggest expenses are trips abroad which I take twice a year (get 17 days of PTO a year, 10 of those going to week long trips, earlier this year I went to Germany, was pretty cool desu). I don't normally count the bonuses because they go towards my trips. Over the past three years I've saves roughly 90,000 dollars. I'm considering purchasing a home soon and moving out of my apartment. Mostly the fact I can just spend money without ever worrying about price tags is why I work rather than be a NEET. A week and a half ago I took out buddies to an upscale sushi place, ran up some 500$ but I footed the bill, being able to do stuff like this for my friends (some of which are still in college, others have lower paying jobs) is what makes it worth it.

Yes. I have a CompE degree but didn't have any internships so I just took what I could get. I had other offers, but they didn't pay much more, and the current job was the first to extend an offer so I just took it. I've been there for about 9 months so I'm thinking about applying for my next job soon. Though I basically dodn't learn anything relevant at this job, except how to cope with using assembly every day, so I'm not sure who will hire me...

The shittiest thing about it is that looking through the logs and documentation, I'm doing a job that was originally filled by 3 people.

Depends on what you're more interested in. The great news is that both of those degrees have equal strong value in the marketplac, you'll enjoy a comfy salary for the rest of your life with either of those two degrees.

>>36908206
If you're more interested in software, do CS. Hell, do it even if you're not. The knowledge from a good CS course is more valuable in a job search than the knowledge from a good CE course. If you want a good job with a CE degree you will have to either go to grad school, or self learn all the stuff they teach in CS courses on your own time.

I work at Macy's. I help unload the truck with all the clothes and shit, cut open the boxes, put the clothes on "z bars" (bars on wheels you can hang clothes on), take the plastic wrap off the clothes, and put the security sensors on the clothes. Occasionally they'll have me fill online orders, which is easy too. I just take clothes that someone else picked off the floor, put them in a plastic bag with the receipt, seal the bag, and put the bar code on it so that the next person in line can scan the bar code and print out the shipping label. I'm part time, I work around 3 days a week on average, and 4-5 hours a day. I like it, I don't have to interact with customers and my boss and my co workers are nice. I get $10 an hour.

It's alright for what it is I suppose. Management is easily the worst thing about the job. Coworkers are all pretty chill so that makes the job a lot less stressful. Other than that, there's not much to say. I show up, clock in, work my assigned hours unless it's a particularly busy night so I stay extra, and go home. If it's something anyone is thinking about doing, just know it's fairly labor intensive so if that sort of thing isn't for you I'd pass.

Honestly my problems with my job are just the nature of my job. I have no issues whatsoever doing customer-service things; turns out I just really like helping complete strangers, and I have no issue striking up a conversation with a random person I have never seen before in my life until that very moment.
However, apparently having obscenely high customer service numbers isn't enough, and I'm tasked with achiving menial tasks (which I can do), but I'm usually being called away by my manager to do random shit around the store; and then i get shit for not being able to finish 100% of my assigned duties, despite having significantly less time to dedicate to said duties. Keep in mind that many of my coworkers don't get their stuff done, but I'm the only one who seems to catch shit for it.
Whatever dude; the semester's almost over, and I'm going to get myself a real job; fuck retail

Shut your fucking mouth, you have no idea what you're talking about. Almost none under 30 will ever be able to own their own home, owning a car costs close to $1000 a year even if you never drive it, food is at least twice as expensive as it is in America, not to mention the fact that our dollar is barely worth70% of the us dollar at best and we get taxed exorbitantly. All told, we earn as much net profit as you do.

I am getting my bachelors degree right now which will take me 4 years or so. If you get your bachelors degree you will usually make a bit more than someone without a degree at the start of your career. You can keep going and get a masters degree too and make even more.

However, you could also teach yourself as a few people in the field do. This will take you a couple years or so based on how disciplined you are and how hard you push yourself. Be warned, however, learning programming on your own is HARD, and people that teach themselves usually don't have as good of an idea of general concepts and theory of development (Doesn't really matter all that much if you are just trying to get a decent job).

Most people don't have the discipline and motivation to teach themselves though, unless it's out of passion (I certainly wouldn't), so college is usually the best path for career programmers. I was lucky enough to have a good chunk of my college paid for by my parents.
>>
>>36909451
You realize they just raise the price of everything to compensate for the higher minimum wage, right?
>>
>>36914382
Not necessarily. I know a few people in the field that never went to college.

Although you really need to have a few impressive open source projects under your belt before you can get your foot in the door somewhere.

After you get your first job a degree doesn't matter as much.

i work in an office dominated by nepotism. As I type this my 'general manager' is talking about how great the owner's son is at sports. He has 0 years experience in our field and got handed the job at $300,000 plus because his kid plays ball with the owners kid.

I also (not kidding at all) have 7 managers working in my office of 3 wagies.

For 2+ hours each morning 4 managers making a combined $1 million a year talk about their children and how great they are, while I slave away in my cube with the other wagies doing 98% of the work for the company.

These bosses decided to completely overhaul the software system (they have no clue how to use) because they thing it will make everything run much more efficient and expect the wagie to implement the entire thing while they talk about how great they are.

I've never in my life, nor ever will be, been surrounded by more egotistical morons who have no clue how to run a business.

College graduate in between jobs. None of which I liked.
OK, let's start at #1, the chain supermarket.
> Work at chain supermarket
> Wanted to night stocker
> Explained that I worked three months at another supermarket, but recruiter still started me at $8/hour
> Wasn't the store I wanted, so I had no idea where everything was
> One day of hands-on training, that was it
> Was told one of the other night stockers was injured, so everyone was working to cover it
> 40 hour work week
> Employer told me to come in an hour later so the breaks were combined into one 30-minute paid break with no other breaks
> Could listen to music and be alone, felt like it was the comfy job I could do well at and get /fit/ at
> Seemed like good money at the time as I had gotten out of college and didn't have a lot of work experience
> Had this grand plan that this could serve as a base because I wanted to work in their food manufacturing plants
> Find out you had ridiculously fast for 8 hours straight and everyone else already had long figured out the store layout and where everything was because the computer training didn't tell you shit
> No extra time to work, the system doesn't let you clock in
> Still expected to help customers
> One day bleach spilled on my uniform, they didn't even want to help replace the black pants, which were mine
> Papercuts all the time from opening boxes, which the bleach irritated
> Put up with whole ordeal for a few weeks anyway
> Find out that the injured guy is back on the job and my hours are gone
> Get laid off within three weeks
> Find out later the produce department had taken a liking to me and wanted me to interview there but they got me out of the company.

And you know what the worst part of it was? It was supposed to be a good anchor to my resume, instead I only worked there less than a month.

#2 Subway. Note that I'm not even including #0, another supermarket that has since gone out of business. Located in a rough neighborhood with nepotism and all sorts of stuff. Anyway, the Subway story.
> Manager wants to hire me for closing
> Since I just worked overnights it sounds pretty good
> Made less than the old supermarket but got a lot of benefits--free drinks, cookies, sandwiches
> Employees were terrible, people from the lower class because I was way overqualified
> Turns out all of them had criminal records at one time or another
> Not too proud to work at a Subway and I wanted to be a nice guy
> Wanted to make friends
> But they excluded from me from conversation and sneered at me when I tried to talk to them
> Poor training made me not work sandwiches very well
> Line assembly means everyone resented me even though I wanted to be polite to customers
> Never got more than 15 hours
> Always kept the place clean
> The franchise owned a shit-ton of Subway stores in the area
> Had a cleaning contest with rewards for employees
> The stores that won had to keep hours down and the only way you can win is if you keep it clean all the time
> Our store won 2nd place
> Only a few employees got the bonus because they were actually there
> They took up all the hours so I only went to work for 4 hours next week
> Final straw was when franchise expected employees to wait tables every hour (all employees which didn't make since from a logistics standpoint because during peak hours, we were all serving) or they got fired after too many times
> Realized I'd rather quit than get fired for company's bullshit
> Never looked back

>get job in a production line
>12 hr shifts 5 days a week on min wage
>get treated like a dog for months, stuck with the dullest jobs in the shift and often get ridiculed by the supervisor
>about to quit
>new management and prospect of change of shift into a 4 on 4 off rotation happen in early april
>decide to stick it up for a "couple of weeks" until change of shifts
>change of shifts never happen
>get promoted to quality control thanks to being one of the few people in the work place who can actually write/speak English
>supposed to get 12 weeks training
>get told I have two
>first day there were no other QCs so it was literally just me
>next four days one of the QCs was around and he was really helpful
>this week, which was supposed to be second week of training I was made to work night shift on my own and doing the work of two QCs

I haven't been to work the last two shifts due to a surgery I just got but fuck this job. I decided to stick with it because being a QC is a rare chance to take my CV off the bottom of the job market barrel. I just want to learn how to QC properly and work 4 on 4 off, not worry about massively fucking something up because I'm made to do the workload of two people for a position I've only been in for 4 days while the day shift has the two experienced QCs working at the same time.

worthless middle management, living embodiment of the peter principle.

I was really good at what I did, so I got moved 'up'. Middle management was all working with people. Old job was only talking to my manager a few times a week and otherwise quietly slaving away for solid pay.

Lift properly or your back will hurt over time. Have good time management and make sure holes on the shelf are filled first. Customers will ask you stupid questions and others will ask for the most obscure shit you will never ever find. At least one of your coworkers will be a lazy piece of shit and at least one manager will be an asshole. Be careful when unloading trucks if you're allowed, or you'll probably accidentally kill yourself. If an item containing liquid drops on the floor from any distance, there's a 90% chance it will just explode, so be careful. When putting shit on a float, keep it very organized - it will save you lots of time

And get some comfy sneakers, because you're going to be walking, kneeling, and lifting all day

With the latter, I'm just sitting at my computer doing actual engineering work.

Yeah. I was a computer engineer and went into software after graduating. Much more money to be made and generally the concepts are easier to pick up than EE stuff (excluding esoteric theory based CS stuff like graph theory)

This is me right now. I work check out at a store and I try to keep things upbeat and talk. Most of the time I just ask them questions and let them talk, but when something like that happens, I freeze up every time.

At least at my store, we're allowed to give away flowers at any time (Most of them die anyway and get tossed, around non-holiday times.) If that happens and I can make the run, I usually grab a bouquet or some roses and tell them I'm sorry for their loss and I sincerely wish them well.

I work in a AAA video game studio, the pay is actually kinda nice , but the hours shitty. Working on vidya is not the dream you just learn to hate everything about games and never have time to play anything and you are subconsciously critiquing every other game because they are your peers

Power distribution designer for local electric company. Roughly 60k/yr after taxes. It's aight. Hate the days that weather/people have fucked with the power lines as it requires me to be at the location to figure out what to do to fix it.

This
My wife and I earn about $165K per year, we're scraping by.

I just want to work, and go home to my housewife who is looking after our children, and on the weekend we'll go on a family trip to a country town, eat at a cafe and buy some fresh fruit at the market.

That's all I want.

Kek no, anyone who puts that shit on their resume gets fucking trashed immediately.

Anyone dumb enough to pay for that has no business sense.
Anyone that needs it to learn basic programming is too dumb to be a code monkey.

I wash dishes
I listen to music and don't talk to anyone
Feels good man

I work at a call center as an agent, I have to deal with angry gringos (I live in a third world hispanic shithole) all the time through chat. It's comfy and I earn like twice as much as an average citizen, which is pretty good considering that it's my first job and I don't have any experience whatsoever, I'm 18 btw.
>>
>>36934916
That sounds so comfy. I used to work at a call center too, taking orders for customers. Would be better if it was just chat though.

Call centre, Inbound calls Its pretty chill once the Monday rush is over spend 3-4 hours a day on here. Only gripe is its 9 hours 5 days a week and 4 on Saturdays every other week.

Pay is what you'd expect for the job but if i do well I can get like 320-330 pounds a week after taxes.
>>
I work as a waiter
4 days a week max, 6 hours a day max. Rest is off due to college
I work 6 hours a day (3 in the mornings, and 3 in the evenings)
My shifts change every week depending on the number of quests and who is on holiday, etc...so i might work 24 hours one week, or 18 the next, only morning one day or only evening, or both.
I earn 7.5 pounds an hour
It's not too bad, i get to wear nice clothes, don't really interact with guests much since i don't serve them only clear tables and set them up.
My boss whom i work with most of the time is pretty chill and lets us do our own thing most of the time, though the main manager is a fucking bitch, and everyone hates her but she isn't in a lot.

I'm starting a similar job in about a week.
Gonna be making $10.25 an hour to sit on a phone and answer calls all day. Pretty big step up considering my last job was $7.25 an hour.

>Over the past two years all 5 of my best friends died from various reasons, 3 of them being suicide 1 just died in his sleep probably from a drug OD and the other one definitely died of a Drug OD.
>Yesterday my last friend passed away.
>Literally feeling like shit in my register all day but I can't afford to take a sick day to grieve.
>Manager pulls me out of my register and tells me customers have been complaining about how quiet I am.
>Tells me I need to quit being more reserved and focus on "legendary customer service".
>Just sort of nod my head along
>He pulls me into his office for not taking him seriously
>"Seriously anon what the hell has gotten into you?"
>I fucking started to cry and buried my face in my hands
>"I'm so lonely"
>He sent me home right away
>About go to in tomorrow and have to face him

Fuck what a day.

make $9.23 (2.5% raise) at a southern-ish grocery store called food lion. I enjoy working here sometimes. it feels better after my shift and if she is there or her mom is there they're pretty cool. and also will is cool.

I like it but if I didn't have to go to school everyday it would be so much better
>>
>>36935651

28 here and I make $9.25
Also $55K in student loans with no degree

Congratz you get about 500 Euro more per month than someone on welfare, but you still have to pay your flat, health insurance, rentirement plan, heating, winter clothes, TV etc. Here is what you do: You go to your local Jobcenter (Check your exact adress online to see which one is responsible). You apply there for assistance. They stock up your wage up to the difference between 15 Euro/h and your current wage. If they bitch around, quit your job, apply for Hartz4, rehire and then they have to do it. But most will do without complain while your still on your original low paid job anyways.
