Are you being serious right now? Ever seen a game like the Total War series or something? Sims issues are from lazy coding and shit optimization, the amount of stuff on screen is nowhere near anything that "just can't be done" on modern PCs.

I liked it. It was more interesting having a varied neighbourhood. But it was programmed pretty poorly.
There's a few interesting city maps where you can play full normie. Live in an apartment and go to the nightclubs all the time. Of course I'd just get high apartment and then keep my sim in there all the time and never go anywhere, but still.

Main reason I stopped playing.
It was fine when I was younger and had endless dreams and possibilities. Now playing the Sims just makes me depressed at how shit my life is right now.
