Here's a peiece of advice: If you feel as if the girl might be into you make a move and make it at the "friendly acquaintance" step of your friendship, i.e. before you get too close as platonic friends. Once you're too much like siblings, things usually are too late. You need to have flirtation and at least a bit of sexual tension between you to make it happen.

She was a Chinese girl that lived in the same apartment complex. I helped her with moving in when I ran into her carrying boxes.
