Thread for anons who love talking about the second world war.
What do you guys think would have happened if Operation Unthinkable (attacking the Soviet Union after Germany collapsed)? Glad it never panned out? What about the land invasion of Japan?
For the former, I'm glad we didn't because we would've been fucked so hard and Europe would still be under Soviet control, methinks. Ditto for the proposed invasion of Japan, shit would've been too costly and split the country in half a la Germany.
Dude the tension with North Korea hasn't gotten that bad yet
ah, my first autistic obsession
just read about a couple of incidents between Japan and the United States that I never knew about before

As much as I don't like commies attacking the Soviet Union head on would be by far the most retarded military invasion in history. There's a reason why all the fighting in the Cold War happened in jungles and desserts and shit, because an actual duke out between the US and Warsaw Pact countries would have destroyed the planet, and everyone knew that. In a weird way though the threat of nuclear bombardment is probably why the US and USSR/Warsaw Pact didn't go to war with each other, due to mutually assured destruction.
