The pain is great enough even when you know it's only yours - that no one else is feeling it.

I can't even imagine what it might feel like to know there was potential, that there was something possible, but it didn't come to fruition, or it failed to begin.

At least when I feel terrible alone, I can still realize that it's all me, that it's all my fault, and that I'm the one who has to struggle.
