Guess I got some explaining to do.
I started roughly in 2013. I was also cut extremely tight and so I just did cross-taping overnight (almost every night) for about 7 months. After that I started cross-taping every day and overnight for about another 9 months after. Took a break for 6 or 7 months then continued, and just now started doing manual stretches (about 5 times a day, 5 minutes each, over the entire day)

Cross taping is basically when you roll the skin up as far as you can without pain (When starting out, this might literally only be a couple centimeters) then taping it in place overnight like a + sign.
And honestly the thing about restoring is that it works differently for everyone, and you should do whatever you can stick to the most for better, more consistent results.

Just plain clear scotch tape. A single roll lasts for like 3 months.
Now honestly, it is kind of a pain figuring out how to do it correctly at first, but you'll get the hang of it. It's all about comfort. If there is ever any pain, take it off and try again.

When you get a lot more slack, you can eventually just push the head down, cover it fully, then tape it like that.

Also when you grow enough skin, you should look into retaining. You can use little plastic caps or other objects to hold the skin in place, without having it be a pain in the ass to take off and replace like tape.
