post /r9k/ albums
There are tshirts with that album on it: it's normie as fuck.
>One of my all time favorites
>Comfy, nostalgic, easy to drift off to, weird but not too weird

aquarius is the best song ever made also
>>36855260
One of the shitties fanbases ever, though.

My favorite song on the album, anon. Fell in love with it when I first played it. So groovy.

Because Cobain did it first. Daniel Johnston is defintely robotcore
>>36855252
Despite the fact that Nirvana's influence helped promote Daniel Johnston, he was and is a robot. Had a oneitis and ended up going insane.
How about this for an album though: https://youtu.be/QSpKBn4lbcU

They may not be true robots, but the album definitely is.
>>36855413
he started insane
>>36855742
Debatable. He was manic depressive but he didn't go fully insane until after he reached relative success
Pure robotcore
>>36855226
probably not embraced as /r9k/ because it's overtly about having sex and gender identity issues, but it captures weird sexual frustration and self-loathing so well that I really heavily associate it with 4chan culture
Maybe I just like the album a lot, but Pet Sounds has always struck me as robot, especially when I hear I Just Wasn't Made For These Times.
As an aside, have you noticed that most normans don't have a favourite album, just artists or songs they like.

would recommend anything from them before Night is the New Day

thanks I'm gonna listen to this album again

Hi, How Are You and pic related take up the majority of what I listen to.
If you're new to Johnston and want another album to jump into, Don't Be Scared is almost on par with Hi, How Are You. If you haven't gotten I to Jeffery Lewis yet, list to Don't Let The Record Label Take You Out To Lunch.
Not an album, but only autismos and try hards listen to Subotnick.

"In 1990, Johnston played at a music festival in Austin, Texas. On the way back to West Virginia on a small, private two-seater plane piloted by his father Bill, Johnston had a manic psychotic episode believing he was Casper the Friendly Ghost and removed the key from the plane's ignition and threw it out of the plane. His father, a former Air Force pilot, managed to successfully crash-land the plane, even though "there was nothing down there but trees". Although the plane was destroyed, Johnston and his father emerged with only minor injuries. As a result of this episode, Johnston was involuntarily committed to a mental hospital."
Believe that would have been pre-Cobain

People that isn't that much into music don't have favorite albums (me).
Here they would be called casuals or plebs

>tfw robots all have similar taste in music with me
It's bittersweet. I know I probably shouldn't be listening to this because it puts me in a bad place, but I love it so much.
Come on, Tom Waits has to be top-tier robot fuel
possibly the pinnacle of Atlanta trap
