I never turn down a drink, or food, in case I might find that I like it.

An absinthe drunk is different. But, it's different in the sense that an Everclear drunk is different. Everclear hits you, but then continues to hit you even when you've stopped drinking it. But, you can still tell it's just alcohol. Absinthe will get you just as drunk as any alcohol of comparable strength but some of the depressant effects seem dulled. Wild Turkey and Bulleit are both pretty good. Since the price ranges are comparable, I'd say Bulleit is better. But, if you reach a bit, and by a bit I mean a dollar or two, Buffalo Trace is better than both of those choices. Evan Williams is still better than all three of those when you consider the price.

I'm going to sound like an alcoholic when I say this, but there is not a straight whiskey I don't like that I've tasted. And I've drank store brands. I do agree that overproofs usually have a better taste, though. The proof doesn't make the drink, though. Even though I swear by Evan Williams, Evan Williams BiB (100 proof) isn't quite as good as Wild Turkey or Bulleit. I'd still drink them all, though. I'd go Bulleit > WT > EW in that scenario. If I just wanted overproofed corn liquor, I'd just drink Everclear 190, which I have done more than I'd like to admit.
