are teeth whitening strips a meme or do they work? I am on a bit of a self-improvement kick and started shaving my neckbeard off and getting regular haircuts and grooming myself and want to fix up my teeth,
go to dentist

I tried them a few years back and was disappointed. I think they did make a bit of a difference, but it was hard to tell and it didn't seem worth the money.
I agree with >>36850645 that you're better off going to a dentist and getting it done properly.
I gargle with bleach a few times a week.
seems to make my teeth a bit whiter.

Seems Iike a good idea champ!

I am very worried about yellowing my teeth and do everything I can to prevent it. I even drink coffee and tea through a straw.

I agree with this post. I found they were effective, but not incredibly so.
I would argue they are perfect for someone who presently has a solid cleaning regimen, but has poor dental history or consumes many foods or drinks which dye teeth (like tea or coffee).

This may be effective, but it is also dangerous. Don't do it too much, or you'll ruin your enamel.

Yes, they work.
I buy discontinued (as in, replaced by the latest version) Crest White Strips on eBay for cheap. Like, a years worth for <$30
Some sellers will sell small quantities, like 5 packs. It will take about three applications for it to be noticeable.
If you ever leave them on too long (I've slept with them on) your teeth will be sensitive for days after. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BOX.
