is it possible to learn coding(and becomes good at it) if i'm a complete retard in math?

Kind of.
I only took a few programming classes in highschool using Python (so im not the person you should be asking)

But essentially yes because the computer does the math for you, just google the answer to make sure you made the computer do it right.

Anything that makes you money and lots of it goes hand and hand with math so no if your garbage at it you won't do good at coding or anything for that matter.

I'm a professional software developer, and I really don't get where people get this idea that you need a bunch of math to write software. If the problem you're solving is a really math heavy one then you'll need math, but that's not because writing the code requires any math. 99% of software dev work requires no math beyond basic arithmetic.

Because most schools require calculus and some amount of stats for cs. I didn't use any of it outside school though.
>>
>>36819420
Seems like logic is way more important than math in programming
>>
>>36819496
Yeah, my school required me to take some calc, but I never used any of it. Just scrape by with some easy C's and forget about it, it's not a big deal.
>>
>>36819318
Yes, you can start with python at first.

Math is really useful for many improvements you can do in advanced programmation to optimize software.
>>
>>36819318
I dont know you but honostly you have no chance so do something you can do. I mean even if you could it wont be any where as good as someone it clicks with anon dont kid your self.
>>
>>36819542
Calc is mostly useless but some stats can be applicable to stuff like data science.
>>
>>36819553
Why doesnt he have a chance? I mean, with time and persistence he could probably learn
>>
>>36819318
Possibly, but being good at math indicates that you'd probably be good at programming as well
>>
>>36819534
That's true. If you can git gud at really methodical and thorough abstract logical thinking, then you can git gud at programming. It honestly doesn't matter what language you start with. Just learn one language really well, then it will be easy to learn new ones as necessary because you will understand what they're doing.

If you want to talk about specialist fields then all kinds of math could be helpful, but I'm talking about general software development.

I just started learning Python about a month and a half ago and I'd say I have the fundamentals down really, really well. I've been practicing for hours and hours everyday because I'm a NEET and I have the time to do it. At first, I thought I was one of those people that wouldn't be able to understand it but now I look back at how little I knew when I started and I realize that a lot of it is sticking and I'm actually learning it.

As far as math goes for learning to program, I'd say knowing at least basic algebra is a must. Khan Academy really helps with brushing up on and learning math
>>
>>36819383
so what am i supposed to do if i don't know math
>>
>>36819772
where/how did you start learning python anon
>>
>>36819318
i fucking lost my shit watching that gif
>>
>>36819318
Easy, you just need to be black/female/muslim/gay/etc. I also helps if you have at least seen a computer before, but that's not strictly necessary. You'll get a programming job in no time!

Here's a combination of books I went through.
Books:
I really recommend this book, I learned the most from this one:
>How To Think Like A Computer Scientist: Interactive Edition
https://interactivepython.org/courselib/static/thinkcspy/index.html

This one is good too
>Automate The Boring Stuff With Python:
https://automatetheboringstuff.com/

this one is alright
>Learn Python The Hard Way
https://learnpythonthehardway.org/python3/index.html

Practice Exercises:
http://www.practicepython.org/
http://www.w3resource.com/python-exercises/

The practice exercises are what really cemented everything into my memory
